      No RCs

Hello, I have been working with lucid dreaming for a while. I have had one lucid dream so far.

I do about maybe 10-20 reality checks everyday but I very rarely do them when I am dreaming. I have done two RCs while I sleep but it did'nt work. It has become a rutine in my everyday life now and I dont understand why I am not doing them all the time when I sleep to. Anyone know why?

      Hi, welcome to DV!!!

Try doing RCs when you see a dream sign of yours in waking life, or when you happen to see something weird/strange. Then when you actually do the RC, make sure it is thorough, and use at least a couple of different RCs, just to make sure you're not really dreaming. That way its not just something automatic that you might end up overlooking in your dreams. When I do a RC, I usually do 3 of them: trying to fly, clock, and finger through hand.

Hope that helps. Good luck on your lucid journey!

Welcome to Dv, yeah sometimes RC's in dreams don't always work, but alot of the time they do. Only use them when you see something "out of place" or when you see a common dreamsign.

After these keep happening you will begin to cross the RC's into your dream allowing you to realise that you are dreaming.

Also as Tyrant223 said, use different RC's, try to vary between them.

It's usually something much more subtle than that. It's best if you keep a dream journal, that way you can see what types of patterns and themes tend to appear in your dreams. With me, these past couple of months, I've been having dreams that either involve water (since I have an aquarium in my room), or me at work or in a big warehouse.

So, I should start doing a RC every time I see those personal 'dream signs', and then take the time to ingrain in my head that I'm doing a RC because of that personal 'dream sign'. That way, I'm not simply doing reality checks at random times... only when I see those signs. Since those themes happen in most of my dreams, I would probably remember to do them since there is the connection between the theme (water, work, warehouse), and doing a RC.

Sorry for the long post. Hope you can understand what I mean.

it's about 45 days since I startat to write a dream journal every morning when I wake up. It has helped very much to remember dreams. it is not uncommon for me to remember 4 or even 5 dreams in one night. but my problem is that I have only had 2 lucid dreams yet! when I had them I diddnt even do reality checks, i just said: "I'm dreaming". The last couple of weeks I have done reality checks very often and they have been very thorough. I'm starting to think I'm never going to learn how to lucid dream..

And the wierd thing (i think its wierd?) is that the lucid dreams I have had have always been in the morning. I tend to wake up like 4 times between 6 and 9 before I get up and it is always between those wake ups I have lucid dreams..
