      Almost a LD

First I would like to say that I really like this forum. I've been reading a lot of the posts and stuff and I see very few negative people here, thats rare in a forum these days. I also think its spending a lot of time in this forum reading tutorials and experiences that led to me almost having one this morning.

Heres my brief experience, I went to bed last night and as I have been the last few nights I kept trying to tell myself "I will remember my dreams when I wake up. blah blah" I had a little trouble because I have ADHD and so my mind wandered a few times and I had to assert thinking about remembering dreams more powerfully. Anyway, I fell asleep and woke up early the next morning, I was kind of dissapointed cause after sitting there trying to remember a dream I couldnt not a tiny bit. So I decided I was gonna try again for at least a dream to right down so I went back to sleep, and mind you there were ALOT of distractions. And I thought to myself, why not try for an LD, if it happens it happens. So I actually tried the FILD method for a while, I relaxed for a few moments with the counting my breathing and then I started to move my fingers as slow as I could and tried focusing on that. After about 20 seconds I did an RC, I had 0 expectations that it would work so I just lifted up my hands and tried to put my finger through my palm, it didnt work, just as I thought.

But just then, my cousin came through the door with a guy I dont know, I was annoyed cause I wanted to try again. The guy with her needed a ruler and a knife for something, I got him the ruler my dad got him a knife, dunno what it is for but then I when back to bed, I heard my cousin say something about her sugar pills (not pills of sugar but pills for her sugar problem) This should have been a huge tip off cause my cousin dosnt have a sugar problem, also I might add she lives 150 miles away and dosnt just randomly pop in as it takes 4 hours for her to get here.

So as it turns out I was actually dreaming but I didnt realize it. I went back to bed (in my dream) to try again, dont remember what method, but I found myself in my car on the side of the road and as I looked out at the road I saw a giant porcupine chasing a guy with a cart, like a medieval japan style push cart and I even think the guy had a ricehat on like he was some japanese merchant from the old days lol. I was trying to start my car cause the porcupine was still right there but the car wouldnt start no matter what I did. After a moment I was wishing that the car would go and I pushed on the gas pettle to try and give it some help starting, the car didnt start but it did go as if it was on.

Ok, maybe that wasnt brief, but there it is. I consider this a success even if it isnt really a LD cause I didnt really expect anything to happen so my faith has been bolstered by this.

Hi and welcome to the forum

Haah unlucky about the dream, it sounds like you had a lot of control and it was very vivid. Just you didn't notice. Arh well its more then what most have achieved at an early stage of learning.

Well you can only get better. Good luck next time.

try doing multiple RCs, at least 2. I haven't had much luck with the fingers through hand RC. The nose-pinch RC is very effective for me.

      Thanks for the welcome!

As for the RCs, correct me if I'm wrong cause I am new, but I think the reason it failed was because I had 0 expectations that it would. So I only did it kinda half hearted. When I read peoples experiences on FILD (and others) talking about how pretty much you have no idea that your even dreaming I had no idea. I mean one second I'm laying there counting and the next I'm in a dream seamlessly with no recollection of ever falling asleep. Its quite amazing. The power of the human mind just never ceases to amaze me.
