      Question on techniques

      Hey all,
I was wondering what some people thought the best technique was to start out on for LDs. Or is it just depending on who you are?

      Thanks lots,
      Bobby

Well the best technique for beginners seems to be WBTB combined with MILD (and possibly FILD?). When I first started, I practiced WBTB + MILD for about a week or two before getting my first LD.

      RCs

I just wanted to stress that Reality Checks are vital for whatever method you do choose, unless you naturally lucid every dream of your life! Even if you DO become lucid, RCs can keep one lucid, and not going back to a normal dream!

I agree, RCs are important too. For instance, if you do the nose RC several times throughout the day, you may be dreaming one night and just randomly do a RC without giving it any thought at all. Embedding this sort of thing into your subconscious can make things much easier.

Personally, I started out using just MILD. It didn't do too much for me. Now I do my own "edited" version of the WBTB method along with naps and thinking about LD before actual going to sleep, which seem to help me induce lucid dreams.
My advice: Do some research and experiment. Each person is different. For some (like me) WILD may not work, but MILD or another method might be the one. And like what was said before, reality checks are key.

Goals: Have more LDs; Work on Recall; Turn into an animal!

DILD is good, because it doesn't require much. Just remember to do alot of Reality Checks in real life.
You do this every fucking time.
