Personally, I started out using just MILD. It didn't do too much for me. Now I do my own "edited" version of the WBTB method along with naps and thinking about LD before actual going to sleep, which seem to help me induce lucid dreams.
My advice: Do some research and experiment. Each person is different. For some (like me) WILD may not work, but MILD or another method might be the one. And like what was said before, reality checks are key.
