Ok, by the sounds of things you must have gone through SP, you may not have experienced SP itself but you will have gone through it because you managed to reach HI (hypnogogic imagery) where you saw flying shapes, you did well so yes you did reach and even surpass SP, keep trying, you seem to have sucess with this!
