The n00best of all n00b questions.

I'd be ashamed to ask it anywhere other than here.

So basically my question is, is there a limit to Dream Control? Fundamentally, it seems like the only limit would be your own mind. Essentially, the extent of your imagination is the limit to your dream control. However, this seems too good to be true. So say I'm having an LD. Would I be able to do something like say, I don't know, fly to the moon, destroy the world, create a new world inhabited only by millions of lions across the super island of Pangaea, and fly back to Earth and fight these lions to the death?

Sure you could! Although there are a few buts.
I have had pretty good control in my lucids, but there was one where I couldn't jump really high. I have no idea why. And in another one I couldn't fly fast. I could fly but in sort of slow motion, like the air resistance was slowing me down or something.
You would have to have a pretty long lucid to do all those things, and not get too excited that you wake up. The not getting too excited just comes from practice.
      Theoretically yes!

By Scott. I think I've finally found a long term goal.

yeah theorecticly, its possible but as 2fruits said, you would need a very LONG lucid to do all that, and to a beginer, stuff like that could wake you up!i still think it would be an awesome expierence. i went out into space once, kinda got stuck though. bring a jet pack! lol

Also: Is it normal that one becomes able to fly in a dream, yet still remains unaware that he is in a dream? Or am I just especially stupid?

I've been lucid dreaming for over 20 years and I lucid dream a lot, although sometimes really stupid things happen in my 'normal' dreams and it still doesn't trigger an LD. Perfectly normal.

The trick is spotting these odd things and triggering an LD. Sometimes easier said than done.

Okay, good. Looking back, I've had some pretty crazy dreams which sometimes don't feature me or eventually turn into video games.

If you can, try looking for a 'dream sighn' that's common amongst your dreams. That way if you see this sign, it may trigger and LD. I seem to have a preoccupation with mobile phones in my normal dreams. If I see one in a dream now, it instantly triggers an LD. Happens at least 4 times\week.
