      Forgetting Dreams

When you wake up, and have a dream fresh in your mind, if you dont care for the memory properly, it shall vanish. I know all too well about this. But where does it go??? Do you actually forget the dream, or does it go into an "archive"?

I've heard from a few sources that you never forget anything, you just have problems recalling the memory. Some people under hypnosis can recall being in the whom of thier mother. Hypnosis can reveal secrets and summon up memories you never knew you had... There must be a way to harness this power voluntarily.

I'm sure everyone here has heard about people who were abducted by aliens and, under hypnosis, they recalled every detail of the ordeal. Regardless of whether you beleive in little green men or otherwise, could this not have been a very realistic dream they had and not remembered?

If a person could recall every dream they'd ever had in thier life, that person's life would seem to have stretched out 1/3 longer than waking hours would permit. Wouldnt that be amazing??? Maybe there are people out there who CAN do this without hypnosis?

I think what they mean about how we never really forget things, is that they are repressed and become unconscious. We are not consciously aware of them, nor know that they exist. Of course this is not true of every single thingk you forget...

Through hypnosis one can access the unconscious mind and recall facts that have been repressed. The greatest problem in using this as a form of therapy is that the patient won't be conscious of anything that was told during the session, so it won't help him progress. Also, the therapist must be careful not to superimpose things into the guys memories. When one is under hypnosis he is in a very susceptible state, in which his/her memories can be easily altered. In other words the therapist can change the patients memories to something else if he is not careful(or if he is so inclined )

Since every repressed thing is unconscious to the person, then it is not easy for him to access. That is what therapy is about many times, discovering repressed memories and thoughts and assimilating them consciously: Dealing with them. Thus it's not easy to have access that material, like you say, but you can always try...
      If I hadn't made me
I'd be more inclined to bow
Powers that be would have swallowed me up
But that's more than I can allow...

Maybe you could view a lost dream while having a LD.

Perhaps, that is something you might want to try and see if it is possible. Perhaps turn on a TV and expect that dream to be on one of the channels or something....that might work

Well... I would have to dream I was on the computer or something, and get a "directory listing" of dreams, since I cannot recall a dream I dont remember... Maybe that would be a good way... Open dream files one at a time till you find an interesting one to watch!

I remember in the GOOD wild that i had i remember suddenly remembering things that I knew were long long ago, but had been buried. I can't remember what the memories were, but I know I had known them while I was dreaming.
