      Questions on excitement...

I know that if you become too excited at the start of an LD, you will probably wake up. But what if you decide that in your LD you're going to go Jackie Chan style on the hapless bystanders of you mind and get excited? Will you have to control your emotion, or is it OK to be excited then? Either way works for me^^.

Hi there, welcome to Dream Views!

Personally I let myself think how fun and amazing things are when I do stuff like that, but keep the thought in the back of my mind that it's an everyday occurrence, nothing too special.

It's about finding the right balance between extreme excitement and not waking up.

Try to experiment if you can.

I remember the time I had a lucid dream I got quite excited using telekenisis to flip cars on the streets but that didn't make it end, what made it end was getting shot by a cop, I think the shock woke me up. I think it has to be quite a powerful amout of excitement to wake you up, but I don't know I could be wrong.

I actually like letting myself get excited. yes it is true, that sometimes it can wake you up. But if you get real excited and still stay in it. Your excitement can have some really cool effect's on the dream.

      Welcome to the forum.

      Thanks for the warm welcome^^
This has been helpful, thanks all
I have come very close to becoming lucid, really close, and I'm amazed how much my dream recall has improved. For the first time in a while, after attempting a HILD, I could perfectly recall my two dreams. I still can right now, and I wrote them down (or typed them on the computer, really) in my new and improved dream journal. It's odd, like I have read other places, I have always been able to become lucid in nightmares. If I didn't like what was going on, I'd blink, and voila: I'm awake again. The only time this failed was during one particular nightmare...it was pretty freaky knowing I'm dreaming and not being able to wake up...but I'm getting off topic. Thanks again to everyone for the help, I'll keep you posted
