Cool I had a Lucid Dream but how can i refrain from not awakening so fast???

After reading a lot about Lucid Dreaming this past weak i was able to have one yesterday!

In my lucid dream, I was going up the stairs to my room and noticed that this big black dog was laying down at the spot my real dog always lies on. I quickly looked at my surroundings and saw that everything seemed as it would in the real world except the dog.

At that point i realized that it was a dream. I got a tad excited when i found out (i didn't want to get too excited and wake up). so i tried to test it out. I simply pointed at the dog and said "disappear" in calm voice. The dog simply lied down near the wall and VANISHED! then i don't know what began to happen. It was as if i was feeling myself breaking away from the dream world because it seemed as i was forcing my eyes not to open. I saw last everything WHITE and a man in black very far away. Then i don't remember what happened. I think i woke up. .

The things i noticed though was that as soon as i realized i was lucid dreaming, everything seemed lighter and brighter. How can i stay in my dream? i mean last time i had a lucid dream i woke up with a wicked bad headache (this was a long time ago before i knew that lucid dreaming ever existed).

Welcome to Dreamviews! Or at least, congrats on registering.

There are several techniques for staying in your dream, and some will obviously work better for some than others. Some may actually wake you up, but rarely.

After becoming lucid, it is always good to either focus intently on your surroundings, rub your hands, or create any tactile sensation. This will root you in your dream a bit better, and (hopefully) increase vividness.

If you find yourself slipping from the dream (you'll feel it), try spinning in a circle for a short while. It may sound odd, but it will often keep your dream alive.

Over time, you will find it easier to stay in your dream.

      Good luck, and again, welcome!
Have you heard the gypsy hymns in the odd hours of the night?

rubbing hands or spinning are the most common ways. Or shouting 'more clarity now!".
