      First try, first success:D

I just stumbled across all theese lucid dreaming techneques last night and I have only realy tried reality checking, and keeping a dream log but i managed a LD last night. I had a false awakening and then clamped my nose and breathed. Eventhough i could properly breath, i didnt FULLY believe i was in a dream so i couldnt do anything cool. I didnt dare leave my room because i thought it might not be real and everyone else in the house would have thought i was nuts for thinking i was dreaming. I tried to fly and, nothing. So i tried to jump and fall slower, but i just cracked onto the floor on my back and felt like a tit. I then span round and rubbed my hands to gether to make sure i wouldnt wake up too soon and slumped on my bed. I noticed a tiny cirle of light on my celing and I thought, okay, if this realy is an LD i should be able to make the light brighter, so i concentrated on it and, well annoyingly it got a lot darker, making the room go darker. So then I lifted my hands and made a parting motion like moses parting the sea and made the circle of light grow bigger and bigger making the room brighter and brighter. It was realy cool but somehow still didnt convince me, so i looked at my digital clock and its said on the display that one was greater than thirtyeight. displayed like this 1 > 38. which at the time didnt at all seem weird, so I assumed that the clock was just broken and i wasnt dreaming. Then i had a realy awakening to find that the real time was 8:30. And that 1 is deffinatley not greater than 38.

Im thinking that my lack of controll last night was down to me not fully believing that i was dreaming. Is there anything I could do to make convince me even more that i am dreaming? I realy wanna go flying

First up, let me welcome you do Dream Views! Good to have you here.

The early sucess is brilliant, well done you. How do you man you didn't fully believe you were dreaming?

To convince yourself even more, you could do reality checks or look at things and think about how they differ to reality.

Well, Im thinking, and its a bit paradoxial and probably wouldnt make any difference that i was dreaming that i was having an LD and maybe wasnt experiencing the same neorological patterns as i would if i was proplery LDing, therefore i wasnt fully concoius. what seemed to make sence in the dream would be obvoius to me now. the fact that i could breathe through my nose and play with the light would convince anyone properly coincoius.
LD count so far, from 1st of august 2007: About 6 or 7. (I forgot about LDs up until recently)

I will hunt all of you down and kill you in your dreams.

I would just advise you, like Alex D said, to do more reality checks during your dreams, also instead of doing things like flying, which alot of people can't do while dreaming anyway, try doing somthing totally impossible like teleporting yourself or somthing equally impossible.

Infinitly greater than you are... Damn that missing E.
