      time in dreamworld

i was wondering what is the longest LD you have had. im wondering if all lucid dreams are just a couple of minutes or less. has anyone had a LD that lasted for an hour or so. where you could just sit and relax in your dream and watch the world go by and change. Does anyone have dreams that feel epic or do they just feel like random thoughts?

      Thanks for the feedback.

I personally havent had one yet. But, I did alot of research and this is what I heard. I heard at most people have lifelong ld dreams. Well, its not really life long, but its like watching a movie thats lasts a persons life but you only see snippets of your life. Most of the time thought they last 30 minutes to 2 hours. I guess most of the time its only a couple minutes for begginners.

stephen laberge did an experiment and found that dreams are in real time. Meaning 10 seconds of a dream is 10 seconds in real life.

Dreams, lucid or otherwise, last as long as your REM period, which gets longer over the course of the night. I would say that 20-30 minutes is a fairly long lucid dream.

The longest lucid I've had was around 10 minutes which feels like forever in a Lucid dream....I almost couldn't think of what to do next!
I always wonder if our minds could stop time in a dream and make it last forever? I know the logical answer is no but I want it to be yes.

its interesting, someone new to lucid dreaming can instantly think of a million things to do. but i think when you find yourself standing inside your mind, and are faced with infinite possibilities...your mind just kind of goes blank on what to do next.

Infinity is a wee bit tricky to comprehend, eh?

Time in dreams can be made to seem longer. You might experience only certain sensations within an alloted timeframe, but knowledge and memories from dreams can seem to last a lifetime, hence the "lifelong" dream. The question I have is if it's possible to prolong lucid dreams in such a way. If you're lucid, you in theory should be aware of how much "time" has passed. I don't know; haven't had the chance to test it!

... more than once ive wondered if that's what heaven really is.. if there is no real place that is heaven, maybe all our minds need to create an endless LD is the total and complete lack of sensory input... or any input at all...

Mine last anywhere from 5-25 minutes it seems, but longer when I wake up and then fall asleep again and immediately re-enter the dream. Actually, now that I think about it, my non-lucid dreams seem to last a lot longer than my lucid dreams, mostly because I usually wake up within a few minutes of becoming lucid.
