LD's in my nap :D questions,...

I had about 3 LD's in my mid-afternoon sleep today, MY FIRST EVER!! Haa i was happy. But it still felt very dreamlike and hazy, my dream body kept on stiffening up and the light would fade away, until i rubbed my hands, but then it would go about 10seconds later neway. I didnt have complete control, and couldnt make this dog disapear or fly, hmmmm..

Do you think it will be better and more controlable if one occurs in a full sleep, with the heavier REM periods and such?

And also in your nose plug reality checks, do your nostrils flare (to breathe) even when your hands are on them, this surprised me

O and also, i could feel my self in bed?? So it was asif i was mixed between 2 states/ worlds haa, and i could literally move my real arm against my leg while still knowing whats happening in the dream? is this normal??

I've experienced my dream going dark when I've become lucid and also been able to feel both my sleeping body and my moving dream body. Both occurrences are connected, I surmise, as they are both signs of you waking up. It's not that big of a deal and you can move past it with practice.

The main thing to do is to focus on your dream body. Rubbing your hands together or touching something like a wall in the dream can help you to focus on your dream self rather than on your sleeping body and thus can keep you in the dream. The same goes when the dream begins to fade. Just remember to keep reminding yourself that you are in a dream or else you can lose lucidity in the process. Just keep at it and you'll get better at it and be able to have longer LDs.

As far as control, the biggest part of it is confidence. It's your dream, your mind, so you will be able to do what you want. Know that and believe it and you'll be able to do whatever you want. Again, it may just take practice, but don't give up

Finally, with the nose-plug RC, my nostrils don't usually flare. It just plug my nose and breathe in as I would if I was awake.

Three LDs in one nap? That's brilliant, well done!

Now, there's not much more I can say that Ame didn't already. Longer dreams occur in a normal nights sleep because the REM period gets slightly longer each cycle, so in that sense they'd be better lucid dreams, but your amount of control depends on things like level of lucidity. Also, let me stress that control is very much about confidence. I find that if I remind myself "I can fly(for example) because this isn't real, it's a dream" and mean it, it becomes much, much easier and helps me keep lucidity as well.

Well done again on the lucidity.

Yeah my LD's occured just as soon as the other one had finished, well they may of even just actually being seperated by flase awakenings!

I dont think i'll struggle with the confidence and control, i just couldnt concentrate with how quick the LD kept fading.

But however, one week in, hadnt heard of lucid dreaming a week ago , ill be a master before you know it
