      New, self taught, question

Hello all, I'm 18 and im new to the site and ive been having occasional lucid dreams all my life but recently started being able to have them every night. I never knew what i was doing and I never knew the term "Lucid dreaming", or that it was possible, it all just happened and i taught myself. during my lucid dreams I can control myself in anyway that i want but i cannot control my surroundings or things that occur. Usually when i realize i am dreaming I have fun for a little bit but then weird events occur. for example last night i started off eating at hooters, partying, and having a good time, then an indian guy took me and friends clam hunting on a raft. then i ended up in the woods where i faught a farmer who had a purple stick, then aliens came and i fought them with mind powers... just really weird things. the thing is this was all actually scary and hard to keep in mind its a dream. what i want to know is ways to control what happens in the dreams. any suggestions?

Hello and welcome! Some (lucky) people have the ability to lucid dream naturally, I guess that's your case. As far as dream control goes, that's actually the easiest part. Everything that happens in your dream is just part of your mind, so you aren't bound by any physical laws whatsoever. Just have confidence in your abilities and don't try to do anything, just do it. If you have any doubts in your abilities, then you will lose your dream control.

I believe that's called dream incubation, so yeah, it's normal.

Well you could try spinning, that is usually used for teleportation/changing the surroundings. Or you could use a door and imagine the scenery behind it then go through it.

      Hey and welcome to DV~~~
So you’re asking me how to have control inside a dream. When you are lucid verbal commands are usually very powerful. As soon as you are lucid tell you’re self verbally " I have all the power, because this is my dream!" Say it to your self over and over again. Then start to exercise your powers.

thx ive been trying this actually its kind of like you need to think of it really strongly and almost yell your commands. its hard to get the confidence up sometimes like the littlest doubt in your head can stop what you want to happen lol.
