      Hi guys, another noob here.

I have been able to recall most of my dreams from a really young age, but lately they have been more vivid than usual and sometimes super violent. I was looking up ways to control dreams on Google and came across this forum. After lurking around for a few hours I decided to join.

There seems to be a ton of info here and I look forward to getting to know you guys.

Vivid dreams are good, because when you become lucid in them (and you will ) they're really realistic, sometimes more so than real life
Glad you decided to join, see you around the forum

hey welcome to the forum - I think you are the first newbie I have seen to say they were searching about controlling dreams because they wanted to know if it was possible... Most people had heard of lucid dreaming one way or another.

Either way enjoy your time here

Meh I came here from the Howstuffworks.com page on normal dreaming which I was researching... I had never heard of lucid dreaming until then. I didn't believe in it completely until I had my first

Anyhow, welcome to DV Sleep Surfer, you'll love it

      Thanks for the welcome.

I have always had really vivid dreams, and often they appear to come true IRL. I have kind of ignored it a lot but as I have become older I've decided I should actually pay attention and try to understand them more.

From what I've read here, I have had lucid dreams before (usually nightmares) and woken myself up. I guess I was too afraid, or even didn't know, that I could try to control them myself.

When I was searching yesterday all I wanted was a way to make my current nightmares go away or for me to be able to control them. I ended up on a few really dodgey sites before I found this one. lol

I find this lucid dreaming fascinating. I had no idea *embarrassed* that such a thing really existed or even had a word for it, as I've never bothered to think about it for more than a second or two even though my dreams or nightmares can often remain with me during 'awake' time.

I am not familiar with all the new terminology that I've seen here over the last 24 hours so you guys will have to bear with me while I get the hang of it.

I am really enjoying reading this board and seeing what kinds of different experiences everyone has. I also love that this board is mixed ages.

Something that really stands out for me, after being a member at a few different BB's (not dream related) is the way this board is set out. Kudos to the owner/admin for this. It rocks.

      Thanks again for the welcome.
