      Hey there,

Your body was preparing itself for sleep. As we lay down in our beds and stop moving around, the body basically goes through a physiological process that results in something called Sleep Paralysis, which prevents you from acting out your dreams. We are usually not very aware of this process, as we either fall asleep beforehand, or have our thoughts turned elsewhere.

But using WILD techniques, you often do experience this exactly because they're meant to keep your mind awake and conscious. So it feels strange to you, but actually its something that happens each and every time you go to sleep.

      Anyways, hope that helps,

Just for an expansion; the hypnagogic imagery, vibrations, and all the hypnagogia hallucinations happens later once you've gone further with WILD. Don't try to seek for those: when you face them the first time, you WILL notice it, believe me. Expecting the hallucinations may make you feel excited and unable to go on with WILD.

Most definitely, Kromoh. I was doing the same thing kcat is talking about last night and I jumped off the bed right after with the same feeling... "WHAT WAS THAT?!" lol I was so excited because I thought I might be WILDing but it turns out you can't do that right when you go to bed... I got as far as kcat did but also, like you said Kromoh, my heart began to race and I got excited to the point where I thought I would lose it! I didn't until i consciously decided to stop, though, so that shows i got mind over matter going for me!
