      Just started discovering lucid dreaming

      Hi everyone,
I've just discovered this site and think it's extremely fascinating. I've read most of the site about dream signs etc and am starting to practice. I find it very surreal to being able to control my dreams but at the same time it's exciting. I am starting to keep a diary and then try to recognise my dream sign. I just wanted to clear something up. During the day time, do I do RC's every time something unusual happens, or do it every hour. During the awake hours, how would I do RC's? I am guessing that if i get into the habit of RC'ing I will be doing it automatically because it's a habit. Then I will be able to recognise that I'm dreaming etc.
Just wanted to clear this up.
Thanks for producing a wonderfully presented site!

I'd recommend that you do it every hour, AND when something unusual happens...but it really doesn't matter, it's up to you.

hmm...RC's can fail, so if you have a feeling you're in a dream and your normal reality check fails, I'd suggest you do others to make sure. a really good check is trying to read something...

Yeah, like a digital watch. I do that but I dont really have any sucess with it, I think discovering your dreamsigns will be much more effective. Sadly, I dream about random crap at the moment, no real re-occuring theme or anything just yet.

      WELCOME!!!!

I hope we can help you on your path towards lucidity...
      If I hadn't made me
I'd be more inclined to bow
Powers that be would have swallowed me up
But that's more than I can allow...

You can also perform a RC every time you go in a door, for instance.

If you are looking for different RC's, here is a helpful thread:

Cannot really add anything to the great advice these others have already given you.

After a while, your life becomes one huge reality check. I cannot begin to tell how many times I will be walking around the local Wal-Mart asking myself "Is this a dream? How would I know if it was a dream? If this isn't a dream, how would a dream be different?"

      WELCOME TO DV VBSLAM!!!!!!!!!

Sorry, just a bit late. I do hope you find all the info on this site to be helpful. Seeker is right about the reality check stuff, though it works better for some than for others. You never know til you try though.

      Best of Luck!!!

      xoxo,
