      Just stumbled upon this site

First off howdy, im Corey and I just found this site. Im hoping that talking with others will help me obtain the ability to LD. This past week I have been trying to LD, after reading an article about it. So far no luck but thats to be expected.

I have began a dream journal that has every dream I can remember in it. So far I havnt found any good way of waking up right after a dream so I just recall what I can. Some nights I can remember vaguely a few of my dreams and vividly remember parts of other. So I guess my question here is what a better way to develope the ability to awake after dreaming

I would also like to know some of the trems used to discibe varies parts of LDing:
WBTB / MILD/ WILD are a few Ive picked up in just a short time here

Just curious what this would be considered(dream I had.):
I was on the computer going to a bunch of different web sites. Before I knew it I had about 13(the number I remember) virius on the computer. consciously(it seems) I began all the proper steps to remove virius. I did not realize I was dreaming and when I woke up for a minute I thought it really happened.

Any pointers that are not covered in the main page are also welcome.

Thanks of reading(if you got this far) I look foward to what this site and users can offer.

      Hello Corey, to Dreamviews!

You may want to check out the tutorials to get information about all of the -ILD techniques. For all of those acronyms, this list should help!

For waking up after your dreams, have you tried repeating that to yourself before you go to sleep? "I will wake up after each dream period and remember my dream". That usually works after doing it for a few nights.

I'm not sure what you mean by "what kind of dream", it just sounds like a normal dream to me.

I hope this helps, and if you have any other questions feel free to ask

Thanks for the response, I missed the tutorials part which did help.

I did repeat I will awake after a dream once. It did work, just not as intended. I couldnt form a thought to save my life let alone focus on anything before falling right back to sleep.

The past few nights I lost focus of LDing due to work and school but I reminded myself of why I wanted to do it so I will continue to do the right techniques.

One question I have is how do you RC in a dream before going lucid. Does it just become so natural that you do it waking and sleeping? Also should it be done at random or at a set time/place.

RCs can be done in a variety of ways. I do random RCs, just whenever the thought comes into my mind. Having a set time, such as every hour, or a place, such as every time you get into a car, also works well.
Once you get a dream journal going, you can look for common elements called dream signs. Then whenever you see one of these common elements in real life, you RC.
The idea is to get into the habit of RCing IRL so it seeps into your dreams. Choosing dreamsigns is probably more effective than just randomly doing it, since dreamsigns are chosen because they appear in your dreams a lot. If RCing is associated with a dream sign, it should be relatively easy to start RCing in your dream.

      Hi, welcome to Dream Views.

The dream journal is a great start, keep that up. As for reality checking, you can start now and then incorperate eventual dream signs into the checks. Find one or two that you like, two in case one fails, and get to checking. If you're on the computer alot, perhaps reality check every time someone signs into a messenger or you surf to a new web site.
