Something Crazy has been happening, while I take naps.

I usually come home from work and take a 1 to 2 hour nap. Never more than that, as I tend to want to sleep a full 6-8 hours. Anyways...

For about a year now, I have been trying to do WILD's...I suppose(if this is the correct term), and I have not yet been successful while sometimes I usually do I have napping dreams.

      Anyways on with my explanation:

I always lay down on the couch and make myself as confrontable as possible. I turn on the fan as it provides me a white noise, so I dont have to listen to the loud outside noises.

I feel my body get heavier and heavier until I feel completely nothing. I start to get images in my eyes of dark fountain like purple liquid flowing in front of me. After a while I will see sharp HD(HiDef) images but I can't ever make them out. Kinda like I am seeing into the dream world, but can't complete it.

These images are always like 100 yards away with a forest border surrounding it. Then when I try to focus on it, to make out what this image is *GONE*

Then it seems like the darkness that you see when your eyes are close, expands for miles and has a depth of... I don't really know, but forever.

This is where I usually fall asleep, and wake up later without completing a LD.

Anybody else know what I am talking about, and any napping tips?

      Thanks

Sounds kind of like hypnagogic imagery (HI), try to keep on seeing these images without focusing on any part of them in particular (staying non-interested but aware of them) while listening to your breathing.

An easy way to do all this is (taken from one of BillyBob's tutorials, I think!) is to do as follows -

Breath in, breath out, count 1 and say to yourself 'I'm dreaming'. Try to see in front of you the number you are up to as you go along.

I've found this works well for me, hopefully it helps. I'd recommend checking out the WILDing tutorials on the site, they are extremely helpful and well written.
