      What is a dream guide?

Pretty basic question-- but I honestly have no idea what the heck it is! I looked all over and people keep talking about them... what are they?

It depends... A dream guide in your dreams or a dream guide on DV forums?

Dream Guide: My definition of this would be the character of your subconscious mind. A Dream Guide is a character in you dreams that may come to you and assist you. This person is all knowing. A lot of people try to summon their dream guide in their lucid dreams. (I met my dream guide not too long ago. Hes a Native American man. Hes very wise.)

DV Forum Dream Guide: A dream guide on these forums is someone who assists you in the learning of attaining lucidity. A Dream Guides name will appear in green and you can feel free to ask them any questions you have regarding lucid dreaming.

Someone who guide you, in your dreams..

How hard can one make it? Do you know how to read, and use a dictionary?

Jamal pretty much nailed it, however some also believe a dream guide is sometimes a spiritual being that helps you learn about the world and yourself.

Now a note of caution, do not unconditionally believe everything your Dream Guide tells you. Be sure to evaluate everything you are told, sometimes the mind plays some random tricks on you.

We wouldn't want you to get hurt.
you must be the change you wish to see in the world...

Yes, the others basically said it. No one really knows WHAT a dreamguide is exactly. It could be a manisfestation of your subconscious, or it could be something like a guardian angle.

(actually, it would be rather convenient, someone to consult IN the dream about the dream)

... the first post helped alot more. Don't insult my intelligence, I was only confused to what it meant since so many people had different interpretations. Go get a life other than insulting noobs.

And thanks everyone for the help-- I get it now.

A dream guide could also be described as a normal DC that you expect will act smarter than other DCs.

Since you expect him/her/it to be "smart" and to act "wise", thats exactly what it does.

Agreed. He was rather rude about it. It seems only for the sake of being rude, which is even more rude.

Rudeness aside, welcome to Dreamviews. Hopefully you understand that most people here won't be a jerk to you.
