      Hello.

      Ciao a tutti!
My name is Benjamin, and I write from Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. I'm pleased to find this site active and bursting with information and techniques pertaining to lucid dreaming. I've been interested in the subject for some time now, however apart from some feeble attempts to sustain a dream journal, I have never fully immersed myself in the literature on the subject, etc, or explored the flourishing community of oneironauts. I've had, periodically throughout my life, natural lucid dreams (DILDs?), however I am fascinated by the concept of WILDing and the possible advantages of this method in exploring my subconcious (not to mention that amazing anecdotes which I have been reading on this forum ) . Last night I tried a blend of WTBTB and WILD, but failed miserably. Of course, as this was my first attempt I know that it's not prudent for me to be prematuraly discouraged. I intend to keep up with this technique until I experience some success- at the moment I feel that I am facing two main problems: one, my dream recall is shabby, at best, and the seond problem being that I find it difficult to transit from HI into a dreamscape (I also cannot lose awareness of my physical functions after sustained concentration). Of course, as I have been attempting this for an embarrisingly short period of time, I'll be doing more research and tweaking my technique before lodging any official complaints.

In any case, please know that I'm pleased to meet you all, and am looking forward to learning from and with you.

We have funny smileys here at DV too!

Try DEILD, I like it, I find it the easiest way to induce a lucid dream, although I don't do it very often.

There is no real-life, there is only AFK.
