Hm, well let me share with you some advice. Keep in mind I'm out of practice these days too.
Writing your dreams down consistently is fundamental to lucid dreaming health. If you find writing each dream down by hand is too time consuming, consider investing in a sound recorder, so forth. Also you could just write your dreams in a series of notes so that you don't have to spill out every detail. Hosting a dream journal here can be great fun because not only do you get the chance to swing by others journal and leave comments, you can have people comment on your own. So it serves as both a helpful lucid tool and a means of socializing.
When you start having great recall then your lucids should become more stabilized, and much more lengthy. You absolutely have to try a full blown vivid 45 minute lucid dream to appreciate and understand the time that's spent practicing and honing the skill. Though, hey, if you honestly like just reading and such, then that's fine too.
