      Thumbs down Suggestions?

      Hey everyone.
I just registered today and I'm very new to lucid dreaming.
I am a runner, and I'm pretty hardcore about it too. I read in runners-world that lucid dreaming could help me improve my times, so i read up on techniques that could get me to lucid dream. The problem was that one of the steps i had to take was sleep interruption. This is hard for me to do because I need to get a good nights sleep to get fully recovered, feel up to my best etc. etc... So i was wondering if there were any other techniques that could get me lucid dreaming regularly. I have about a month and a half till my first race and if i can lucid dream before that race then I bet i could get my times down a lot.

      Thanks

I run a little and how lucid dreaming can improve your times I have no idea, but besides that I can give you a little lucid dreaming advice. The sleep interuption (WBTB) method realy dosnt interrupt your sleep if done breifly but if you are totaly against that... try to improve your dream reacall by keeping a dream journal and do lots of reality checks. If you havent look at the home page and read through the whole dream views site and maybe check out the tutorials.

and just wondering... can you tell me how in the world lucid dreaming can improve your times
guess we'll try again tonight then..

Well for runners... I'm guessing that lucid dreaming is kind of like an extreme form of visualization. And visualization can help you with your running.

This artical might answer your question. If not then just reply and ill try to find the artical i read in runners world magazine and put it on this thread. It's a really interesting artical.

Also, thanks for the advice. If you have any other ideas or techniques, I love to hear about them. I really want to have a lucid dream!

I'm trying to think about how lucid dreaming can specifically help your running and I'm not entirely sure how it could. Perhaps it could be an exercise in visualization, kind of letting your mind go as you run and getting into that "zone." I'm not a runner, though, so I've only experienced that in swimming... which would be similar.

But I digress. I say go for it! Try running in your lucid dreams and see where it leads you and try to note any progress.

      Good luck!

You could try MILDS or DILDs neither of which require WBTB.. but sadly no technique is guaranteed to have you lucid dreaming regularly before a month and a half.

You might want to check out the Tutorials forum which contains information on the various lucid dreaming techniques and other helpful information: http://www.dreamviews.com/community/...splay.php?f=25.

Good luck and welcome to Dream Views!
