      was this a lucid dream?

      Hello

I'm very new to this, but I also feel like I've had a lucid dream before....or at least something close. I don't remember much at all, but maybe it'll help.

I was in a normal dream, and something bad was happening to me. I can't remember what it was, but I do remember trying to stop it. I got very irritated, almost claustrophobic, because I couldn't do anything to stop it. but I knew that it was bad, or wasn't supposed to happen. I think I woke up then.

Was this even close to a lucid dream?

Well, did you feel like you had complete control over it?

no, I had no control over it. but like I said, I tried to control it.... from reading the descriptions of lucid dreams, it doesn't sound like one. but I don't know, it was different than other dreams.

Well, from the things I've read so far this does sound like a lucid dream.
If you were consciouly trying to stop it.
Having a lucid dream doesn't always mean you are in complete (or any) control.
It's just the level of clarity in the dream, like being totally conscious of it.

(please someone correct me if I'm wrong, I'm also a bit of a newbie )

Hi, a lucid dream doen't have to do with the clarity or reality of what you experience. The key element is realizing you are in a dream. A lucid dream can be fuzzy or blurry; as long as you realize you are dreaming, whether or not you have control, you are having a lucid.
So the question to ask yourself is:
Did I at any point realize I was dreaming?
If the answer is yes, you have had a lucid.

ok. I actually can't remember if i realized it was a dream...

since it was a while ago and I can't remember a thing, I wont say it was a lucid.

      thanks guys.
