      New to the Forum

Hey everyone! I've looked around the forum and site for a while, and know how things work. I finally got around to registering now!

I chose the name Ender_ because Ender from the book Ender's Game just popped into my head, and I couldn't really think of anything else. I may think of another name later, but I really think I like this one. Ender is a very admirable character, and I loved the book. I added the _ on the end because just plain Ender was already taken.

I had a short DILD recently, (my first since I started trying recently, but I may have had a few in the past) and have been trying to WILD. I am going to need help with the WILD, because I am having trouble falling into the REM. I will give more details on these later, but for now I want to get to know everyone.

Welcome to Dreamviews. Putting a _ on the end of your name... I'm glad Ender isn't an active member, otherwise we'd probably ask you to change it.

Thanks! WILDs are very hard for me, because I usually am too awake, even if I WBTB.

I first started by trying right before going to sleep. I would do the 61 point relaxation technique, then focus on my breaths while counting "1 I'm dreaming, 2 I'm dreaming.." with numbers on the inhale and I'm dreaming on the exhale.

After the first 2-3 times, I stopped using the 61 point relaxation technique, because the breathing seemed to be what worked.

The results I got seemed to be good. First I would feel slight numbness, except for blood flow to certain areas. Then, I would feel like like my whole being was in my head, and lose the feeling in the rest of my body. The first 3-4 times, this was accompanied by an extreme increase of heart rate (which cause me to stop trying twice, because it literally felt like 3-4 very strong beats per second), but I don't get the increased heart rate anymore. After the numbing though, I get nothing. Once or twice, I think I saw some HI for a few moments, and other times my eyes flicked back and forth for a few seconds, but nothing else happened afterwards. The strange thing is, I usually have trouble clearing my head after this point, but do fine beforehand. Also, recently I haven't even been able to feel the full numbing either. If anybody could give tips or tell me how far I am, that would be very helpful!

Yeah, I thought about putting a number, but I thought a _ would be ok. I didn't take into account that the whole name was underlined, making it less noticeable. Sorry.

well I think you are pretty safe from him coming back, 10 posts and he joined in 2005, and if he did come back he would probably have to change his name.

That's true, the forum underwent software upgrades earlier in the year and everyone had to reregister anyway. That was here right? Sorry, I belong to quite a few forums.

I think you may be a bit confused, this forum updated last year and all we had to do was reset out passwords.

It doesn't make too much of a difference. If the need arises, I could have an admin make a more noticeable difference in my name.

I'm off to bed, and I am going to try to WILD again. If doesn't work, hopefully talking about lucid dreaming will cause a DILD. Wish me luck!

Uhh, what Amethyst means is, uh, hide... over there -->

He protects you from the devil smiley.

I also didn't read on of your posts about wild. You should see how fast you fall asleep, if you fall asleep fast you should try deild. This is a form of wild that takes only a few seconds to a minute. Just wake up, don't move, and go into the dream.

I used to fall asleep quickly, but now it takes me FOREVER. Sometimes it can take up to 1.5-3 hours for me to fall asleep, even if I feel tired. I will try DEILD though because I may be more tired if I wake up during the night.

1.5-3 hours in my eyes doesn't seem to good for me. Its only supposed to take 7 minutes. Is there any reason your falling asleep so slowly? If my room is too hot it will take me that that long.

Sometimes noises and lights from other rooms will just wake me up right as I am getting tired. Usually my mind just starts to wander a lot, and then I realize another 30-45 minutes have passed. Maybe this is just a really light, slightly conscious sleep, and I just don't realize it. Is there something like this?

      Lucid Goals:
      1. Successfully WILD
      2. Increase lucidity, clarity, control, etc.
      3. Change locations/teleport

Maybe you should use ear plugs, or like me, have a fan on high right next to your face

I used ear plugs a few times when I tried WILDing, but it didn't seem to make much of a difference. I don't use them when I am regularly going to sleep, because I usually sleep on my side. This is uncomfortable if you have ear plugs in because they get pushed on by the pillow.

A fan might be a good idea, though because the constant noise one creates may drown out other noises without being bothersome.

The main problem is that my mind wanders, which may be happening in a light sleep, but not deep enough to feel like I got any sleep. Another thing that might be a problem is, I got a rather stiff bed a few months ago, which may be around the time I started having trouble falling asleep.

It isn't always 1.5-3 hours, but that does happen too often. I definitely take longer to fall asleep than most people, even when it isn't that long.

      1. Successfully WILD
      2. Increase lucidity, clarity, control, etc.
      3. Change locations/teleport
