      First WILD attempt

I decided to test the WILD today but I got a little confused. the hypnotic imagery your are supposed to see never came and I wonder what I did wrong. I was concentrated, focusing on my breathing and repeating for myself " im gonna have a WILD, my body will fall asleep" but all that happened was a numbness spreding throughout my body. All this took about 45 min to achive but all I got out of it was a wooseiness when getting out of bed. Please give me some tips on how to get better!

Try WBTB with the WILD. Go to sleep wake up after 5 hours sleep, stay awake for about an hour then try the WILD. Should help a little. Apart from that be positive and patient, it takes time

Or you could vary the above too - some people like to WBTB and only stay up for about 5-15 minutes. Different variations work with different people.

      This is what I do:

Get some kind of gentle alarm clock (I use my boiler timer- the water wakes me)
Set your alarm 45 minutes early.

When you wake up then try it, I can WILD every morning after about 15 seconds.

It might work. You just have to try it and see what works best for you.

It is different for different people.

Sounds like you're making good progress. Congrats.
And like verto said, not everyone experiences the same thing when WILDing. Some don't see the HI, or get the vibrations or the sounds or any feelings at all. Just keep at it. Remember the sensations you do experience and use them as signs that mark how close you are to getting lucid.

      In the lucid state?

In my case I got used to feeling a little kind of twinge in my mind that alerts me that I"m dreaming. Sometimes, just to be sure, I still do a reality check or two to be absolutely sure.

If you suspect you might be dreaming will yourself to float upward. That way you don't have to actually move to reality check. If you float upward, you're obviously dreaming. If not, maybe try a different reality check to be sure.
