Hello. I found this web site today when searching on Google for anyone else who thinks lucid dreaming might be related to deja vu. I found such a post under one of the forums here, and in doing so, also found this awesome site. I used to post a bit on alt.dreams.lucid back around 94-97, but it seems to have gone down hill these days.

Anyway, I didn't discover the name Lucid Dreaming until I was a teenager. Prior to that, I had had many dreams in which I had become aware that I was dreaming, and initially I used that knowledge to go flying, as most people tend to. I remember such dreams from 5 years of age. It wasn't until I was 10-13 years of age that I started trying out other things, like walking on water, walking on the ceiling, breathing under water, moving objects with my mind, making objects appear, anything I could think of that was cool really, and sometimes just sitting back and watching what was happening around me. I mentioned these dreams to a friend of mine, and not long after that he said he had seen something on TV about Lucid Dreaming (this is before the Internet came out by the way). I then knew what the name for it was and went to my local library, where I got out Stephen Laberge's 1985 book on the subject, and from there I just went crazy on the subject. I kept a dream journal for about 4 years after that and had a number of lucid dreams during that time.

So I'm not really a newbie as far as lucid dreaming goes, but I am a newbie to this site.
