      All the Acronyms

      Hello, I'm brand new on the forums, and I've become very interested in studying dreams and how they work, lucid dreams in particular. I'm even reading "Exploring the World of Lucid Dreaming," and I have to say, I've never been so fascinated by anything in my life. I'm 15 years old, and I'm thinking about majoring in psychology. Anyways, now that I've introduced myself, I have a suggestion.

      I read the sticky for new members and found it very helpful, except for one thing, I didn't see the meanings for any of the acronyms you use there. The only one I know is RC, reality check. I was wondering if someone could tell me what they meant, or if it could just be added to the sticky by the admin for all the newbies like me to see.

      Also, I was wondering if there was a website that I could use to type my dream journal in. The one here is nice, but I'm looking for one with daated entries, that can help you track patterns with keywords, some kind of blog.

      Thanks a lot for the help and I greatly appreciate it. I'm looking forward to being a good addition to the forums.

      Well welcome to the forums Jared2500!! There's alot of great info here as well as many great good people that are great sources of knowledge...

      As for the acro's to things;

      Techniques :: WILD , DILD, VILD, etc... (Wake Induced Lucid Dream, Dream Induced Lucid Dream, Visually Incubated Lucid Dream) Any acro with a format ending in ILD, generally is technique and can be searched for *or check tutorial section* for more info about them.

      General Acros' :: DC (Dream Character), LD (Lucid Dream), ND (Normal Dream), SG or DG (Spirit Guide \ Dream Guide).

      *thinks of more* those are all that are coming to mind right now *thinks some more*

      As for dream journal, I have heard of programs out there that you can input your dream journal into that I am sure has date tracking etc. As for my dream journal, both online, and on paper I use a standard format for entry title.

      DATE \ Hours Slept \ LD Attempted, or not attempted
      #of ND \ #of LD (type of LD- WILD \ DILD etc)

      Jan 30th \ 7 Hours Slept \ LD Attempted
      2ND - 1LD (DILD)

      The best way though is to come up with something that suites you and includes the sort of information that you want to document. You can go further and include sleeping positions, moon phases (full, new, etc)

      Anywho, again, welcome to DV, hope you find this place as enlightening as I have.

      LULZ- What we did it for.
      PWNT- What just happened.

      LOL. Sometimes, looking in Tutorials is what we should do first. Also, I found a good thing for journals is "Greatest Journal".

      It has a kind of calendar you can look at, and find when you posted entries and stuff like that. But.. I dunno. I just use the one on here.

      Lol. Damn acronyms.

      There's also
      AP = Astral Projection
      UILD = Urination Induced Lucid Dream ... At least I think it's UILD. Not recommended
