Question Can someone name all the DILD methods?

      ^Thread^

Please don't give me any WILD methods, or anything that could possibly induce a WILD, I want nothing to do with SP...

      Thank you!

You're looking at SP in a fearful manner. SP is sometimes entertaining, and you will experience "Scary visions" and stuff if you believe it to be scary.

WILD is the only technique that actively involves SP.

Everything else, such as DILD, DEILD, FILD, MILD... all this stuff doesn't involve SP.

Maybe after you've been on the site for a while, you'll grow interested in SP and WILD.

You haven't given us a question or anything like that, but about the SP - Yeah - I'm not sure what your worries are.

Have you experienced a presence in the room when you have one? Or a vision/hallucination?
      Or some unpleasant sensations?

Once you understand why you have these sensations, then they aren't so scary anymore.
But of course, you need not jump into it. Start with things you're more comfortable with

I have WILDed multiple times, and I have never experienced SP. I, like you, have not really wanted the experience of SP, so I just make it a point to not move during that transition period. Once the dream surrounds me I feel it is safe to move.

But even if you don't want to WILD, I have had the most success with lucid dreaming by doing a Wake Back to Bed (WBTB) where I wake up about three hours before I usually wake up. I stay awake for about an hour thinking about dreaming or reading this board. Then I go back to bed again thinking about lucid dreaming. I usually don't try to WILD--I let myself fall asleep as usual. But my dreams at this point are usually pretty intense, and since I have had LDing on my mind, something will triger lucidity....and I go from there....

      Good luck.

SP is anything to be afraid of, it's a natural process we all go through. However a DILD isn't really a technique. It's a type of lucid. It's more of a spontanious thing. I suggest doing reality checks to induce one.

as neavo just said, I wouldn't rule DILD as a "technique". DILD is pretty much spontaneous, and isn't a said way to get ld's. Unlike WILD, you cannot perfect the DILD method.

I think for this reason, many of the veteran LDers prefer WILD.

So, if I stay completely still, I won't experience anything scary?

When I first replied I didn't notice the subject had a question

DILD is not a technique. Neither is WILD to be strictly honest.
DILD = becoming lucid in a dream
WILD = staying lucid while going into a dream.

Techniques for DILD are: dreamsigns/RCs, auto-suggestion, VILD, MILD
I don't know of any acronyms for WILD techniques, but there's techniques of relaxation and concentration. Progressive muscle relaxation & breathing, etc.
Then again, I don't class myself as a WILD expert.

Well, staying still has kept me from experiencing SP.

I do have to admit that I did see lights once while transitioning into a dream while WILDing that turned into a face. I didn't like it, so I was able to wake myself up. I have never been stuck in an unpleasant situation that I haven't able to get out of.
