New member / freaky failed WILD?

      Hi everyone,
The first time I even knew about LD'ing was when I stumbled upon this site last November, and I've been trying to LD ever since. So far I've failed at all my DILDs so far since I always seem to be to distracted in my dreams to pick up on any dream signs (still working on that), so I try to WILD every once in a while as well. Until tonight I've always just laid there until my body got a little numb, then I would always start thinking too much. Tonight was different. I went to sleep early tonight but woke up at about midnight. I got up for awhile, checked this site, drank a little coke, then sat down in my bed. After the same routine, I guess I kinda drifted off into a dream or I was doing something right this time.

After a deja vu'ish dream that I felt I've been in before or was resuming, I found myself in my old bed/room when I was still living with my parents in high school. I couldn't move , even when I tried, and I could barely see anything (I seemed to have very faint night vision). There was something else in my room it felt like, but not physically. When I focused my eyes to the bottom right corner of my vision I could see two "glowing"/bright eyes. I ignored this until they would not go away and became the only thing I could really see. Suddenly I started freaking out because of this and that's when I was lifted up to my ceiling. After some time I could hear my fathers voice and I was suddenly in my bed again. If I tried really hard I could get a word out and he would hear me. Then he left the room and I noticed I could move my body again, unfortunately I was now awake.

Sooooo I'm just a little confused. I understand this freaky experience was my first real SP but was this a WILD (a failed one of course)? Kind of makes me feel like I stumbled into something I wasn't ready for. Next time I try I'll try to stay more focused (and in control).

oh and sorry bout the long thread...

Sounds quite odd. This should go in Lucid Discussion, but I'll have to wait for a mod to move it.

      Sounds like SP to me!

      Welcome to DV
What you experienced was a hypnopompic hallucination, and it can be very disturbing
It's the caused of a lot of legends about demons that sit on your chest and choke you ,etc.

      Check it out here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hypnagogia

Once you know what it is, it's easier to deal with. ie. that creature doesn't really exist

EDIT: I'm not convinced this needs to go to lucid discussion, but if you don't get enough answers here, then I suggest you bring up the subject again there
More people will read your thread if it's not in the newbie section. Or you can ask me to move it, if you wish.

      Welcome to the forum!

Sp can be a scary thing however it is completely natural. The hallucinations tend to make people think they are posessed or having an alien abduction.

Sleep paralysis is fun if you get used to it.

Very true. Sp is often given a bad name due to the fear that comes with it in the beginning... but come on... vibrations and seeing hallucinations? That's pretty cool!

SP is only a thing to fear if you fear it originally. By treating it as a fun experience, you can have alot of fun with it!
