      having some trouble w/ Dream Recall & sleeping

      hey all, I started this whole thing a total of two days ago, so I definitely don't expect any big results. However, I have found it hard to sleep since I've been trying to improve my dream recall. I'm not sure why, but I did the 61 pts, and I tried playing the subliminal mp3 that's been posted elsewhere. I'm wondering if there's an alternative to changing how I fall asleep, because I've only been able to recall one dream, which was from a nap, and it was harder to fall asleep last night as well.

      Whats your sleep schedule, how many hours a night do you get?
      WILDs - 38
      MILD/DILDs - 44
      VILDs - 8
      TILDs - 1 (Thirst Induced Lucid Dream, never going through that experience again...)
      Total: 98 - So close to the big 100

      well, I usually go to bed between 1 and 2 every night during the week, and wake up at 8 mon wed fri, 9 on tues,and 10 on thurs, and I get about the same amount of sleep on the weekends, about 6-8. Maybe the reason i couldn't sleep the other night was because I tried going to sleep at 12, but I read that more sleep is crucial for better dream recall, i guess I'm just not used to the schedule.

      i guess you should get a little bit more sleep. to get a better recall you should keep a Dream Journal. set the alarm to go off in the middle of the night so the brain gets used to dream in a more awake state during the time the clock use to go off. meditation makes the recall better. try to not stress during the day, cuz stess makes it harder to recall.

      As Xallie said, more sleep would probablly matter.

      The way Sleep works (in case you are unaware) is through a formatted cycle. You go through several stages of sleep, the last one being REM. You go through this cycle a different amount of times, depending on how much you sleep. During each cycle, the REM gets longer, dependant on how much you sleep.

      Also.. don't rush yourself. Trying subliminal mp3s and the 61 point technique is all good and fine, but you may want to just focus on improving your dream recall and stuff before you take a stride at activating lucid dreams. If you have poor recall, you may not even remember having a lucid dream!

      Good ways to improve dream recall are....

      1. Keep a dream journal. Dream journals consist of EVERYTHING you can remember from the previous night's dreams. By writing all this down as soon as you get out of bed, and then reviewing your past dreams a few days/weeks later.. you will jog that part of your brain that holds the memories.

      2. Auto-suggestion. Auto-suggestion is quite simple and works wonders. Right before you go to sleep, while laying in bed, think or say out loud.. " I will remember my dreams/ have a lucid dream." You have to believe it too. This will help different areas of your brain to remember your dreams, just because of the auto-suggestion.

      If you have any other questions, feel free to reply in this topic, or if they are more specific, you can use one of the many forums to ask questions about it.
      You do this every fucking time.
      No sweat.
      No tears.
      No guilt.
      You do this every fucking time.

      well, there's no rational reason you shouldn't believe it. After all, it really is just mental determination that makes you remember your dreams
      DILD's = 2
      WILD's = 0
