Lucid, with Q's for experianced LDers...

Well, if I had to name a method for doing this, it would have to be DILD, but I did not prepare for it at all. I just realized I was dreaming halfway through a dream. Nothing strange happened. I stood up, walked to the wall, blasted a hole through the side of the house and flew out. Hovering about a mile over the ground, I yelled “More Clarity!” but my voice was deep. At this point, I heard my dog (In real life, but in my dream) but I stayed asleep. I tried rubbing my hands together, but they were wet, and it had no effect. (?) I flew through various public places... The whole dream lasted about 3-5 min. I yelled “More Clarity” and suddenly my view became a lot clearer (As in I had a human frame of vision, where I could turn my head, instead of just seeing a 360 degree blurred dream) I was not over-excited or in any state or mind that would cause me to wake up. The significance of having the dream is finally hitting home, after about 2 hours awake. This, although not induced, taught me things about dream control, and will probably keep me from losing my dream when I FILD. Just a couple questions for more experienced LD’ers…

      1. For example, of you blasted a hole in the wall (Like I did) would you hear a sound and then kind of have it “appear” open, or would you see the wall buckle, crack and blast outwards, leaving little pebbles scattering around the room, and a thud as it hit the ground?

      2. When you fly, I suppose you do not hear the tremendous howling past your ears you would normally do… would you?

      3. Do you have people notice you in dreams? Usually I am invisible, but a girl turned around and recognized me, asked me questions… I can usually make myself visible when I want.

      4. Related to the above, do individuals notice you while the public doesn’t? For example, a person flying in a mall would attract considerable attention…

      Thanks!

      Hey Vance,

I myself have not had the most success with lucid dreaming, but i can try and offer some help anyways.

      1. Events vary in dreams, if you are more aware it is likely that events are going to seem more realistic and you will pick up on that extra detail.

      2. It varys from person to person, but to simulate something like that it is likely that you would hear howling past your ears, the realism is the biggest factor which justifies this.

      3. People will notice you at times, sometimes now, its completely random most the time, but sometimes it can be linked to how you feel on the inside, like hidden sub-concious emotions or what not, maybe you feel ignored in life by people, i honestly don't know, it can happen sometimes, others it can't, simple as.

      4. Same as the above, its not something i can definitevly answer, its different for everyone.

Well LS, answered exactly how I would have!

I too find that it's all based on the vividness of your dream and the mindset you have while in it.

Thanks for the posts! However, I was wondering if there was a sort of (limit) on realism, after all, your mind is resting, could it kick it into really high gear and produce hyper-realistic dreams? I know for a fact I am a good visualizer, I can certainly do this in my everyday thoughts, but would your mind have that sort of "processing" power? Thanks again!

Yes, you would be amazed at how vivid and hyper-realistic a lucid dream can be. That's one of the reasons why so many members enjoy lucid dreaming!

Last night I had my first 20 minutes dream. Hmm. I didnt expect it. I nearly couldnt stop it. And the realism. ... Just amasing.

      Enjoy your learning.

When I first started flying in LDs I thought it was great. Later I started feeling disappointed that I wasn't always feeling the wind or other sensations. So I made it a point to notice those things. After that, I have really loved the "roller coaster feeling" of flying up really fast and then falling down. And feeling the wind rush by.....

So I think this can be applied to many of those questions. If you make a point to notice, I think you will notice. Because it is easy to rush from one thing to another in a hurry and miss the details.

As far as sounds in my dreams go I hardly ever hear them there are exceptions but mainly the sounds I hear are voices

Well this is one of the exceptions I mention, flying has become incredibly real for me. I can hear the wind at high speeds, I can feel the cool breeze as I fly, feel the strange rollercoaster type feeling in my stomach, see for miles depending on how high I am and once I could even smell the salt from the ocean I was flying over.

Sometimes the DCs are incredibly real and know me like the real people do sometimes they are just random
