      A few questions about lucid dreaming. ^^;

      For the past 3-5 days I have been attempting at becoming lucid. Failed. I just have a few possibly stupid questions.

      1. Can you simply lucid dream without WILD?
      I am asking this because it's difficult for me sleep 3-5 hours and actually get up WITHOUT waking up anyone in my house. Lying there in bed for an hour or so feels like about 3 hours. xD)

      2. How I can prevent anxiety when I feel like I'm about to enter an LD? Whenever I think I'm about to enter an LD, I tend to panic (not frightened, just a bit anxious), and then it's difficult to fall asleep.

      3. Will listening to downbeat music keep you from LD?
      I read in another thread that one's technique is to listen to downbeat music and that keeps them from becoming completely unconscience.

      4. Is SP (sleep paralysis) as frightening as they say?

      Thanks for taking the time to answer my questions. ^^ Might actually really help. Still a noob at this.
      DILDs - 1 (with control ^-^)
      WILDs - 3 (All without control. T_T)
      Lucid Dreaming Goals :
      - To have a LD lasting more than 10 seconds
      - To get epic revenge on people I hate.
      - (Skydiving?) off Mount Everest.

      Absolutely. In fact, the majority of lucid dreamers have most of their LDs simply by becoming lucid during a regular dream. WILD is considered an advanced induction technique. I've been at this stuff for 2.5 years and I've never completed a WILD.

      Different things work for different people. That said, it is unlikely that listening to any kind of music will affect your LDing efforts in either a positive or negative way. (Unless the music is too loud for you to sleep! )

      Some people do find SP to be frightening. However, while few people regard SP as "pleasant," most of the "fear" surrounding it simply comes from fear of the unknown. Once people learn exactly what SP is and realize that they cannot be harmed in any way by it, they typically stop being frightened of it. In fact, many people on this board look forward to experiencing SP and actually try to induce it, as it is considered to be sort of "halfway towards a WILD."
