Post Hi, I'm new with a question.

      Hello everyone,

I usually have Dream Induced Lucid Dreams and probably not anything else, but when it happens, it seems like its a bit "foggy" or my field-of-view isnt very good or it isnt vivid or something.

      Thanks in advance!

Hey FoxMuler, and welcome to DV!

What is your dream recall like? If it's not that good, then you might want to work on improving your dream recall.

If your dream recall is good already (remember at least one dream per night), then you could try other things to improve vividness while in the lucid dream. Some of the things that you can do are:

      • Shouting out "Increase vividness" while in the dream
      • Focusing on a specific object until your dream becomes more vivid. This can be a plant, your hand, a painting, etc.
      • You can try rubbing your hands together while in the lucid dream. This helps some people regain focus in the lucid dream.
Another thing that you should do, is pay more attention to little details in the waking life. Grab a pen or pencil right now... look at it. Feel the texture, the weight. Look at the color. Is it faded? Is it brand new? Are there cracks or finger prints on it? What is it made out of? Analyze the pen or pencil for a minute or two.

If you do this type of exercise once a day with random objects, or just in your every day life, then your dreams will start being a lot more detailed.

Also, if you haven't already, you might want to check out the Tutorials Section of this website. There's a lot of useful information there.

      I hope you stick around.

to DreamViews, FoxMulder. That's great that you are already having lucid dreams.

Someone else just asked how to increase clarity in dreams and I was looking for that thread, but I can't see to find it. Looks like Tyrant beat me to it anyway.

      Good luck!

Hi, sorry I forgot to add the actually question but I see people figured out what I wanted to know, thanks alot.

I actually had read some things on this forum and one thing I tried was spinning and touching the ground, talk about really weird feeling with the spinning, it was like my body was actually spinning over the bed LOL. Obviously wasnt since I have a black cat weighing me down, but interesting feelings nonetheless.

I just thought it was weird that it was a bit distorted and not as... colorful and clear?

However I will try some of these things next time, sadly I awoke before I could try anything else, short but interesting .

So, will a lucid dream normally feel very 'real'? I often recall dreams that fooled me into thinking they are real, but whenever I try to lucid dream, I get into a state that feels like no more than imagination or make believe.

Yes, very much so. Lucid dreams will often feel as real as waking reality. Sometimes, it's even possible that a lucid dream will feel even more real, more vivid than waking reality itself.

If your lucid dreams feel more like imagination or make believe, then you might need to work some more on your dream recall or try a few of the concentration techniques. If the lucid dream is a bit foggy, then its best to try to ground yourself in the dream first and increase vividness before going about your lucid dream adventures.

I think I need to work on dream recall. I think I've been having quite a few lucid segments but I think I sometimes lose lucidity or awake and otherwise I just dont seem to be able to get the "foggy" feeling to go away. Its weird because I think I can still feel my real body but ofcourse I am moving in the dream.

I'll try to work on recall.
