      My powers?

      Hello Fellow Dreamers,

My name is Zachary. I am a young man from Illinois who has lead a predominantly simple life and have come across a skill in recent years that I believe can be honed to do some amazing things. I also am starting to believe that the things that you are able to do in your dreams, you are able to do in real life. There is a sort of energy that everyone feels that I believe if we were not in these bodies we would be able to harness into anything our mind can create. Like when you’re Lucid Dreaming.

What I have learned to call Lucid Dreaming has been happening to me since I was in about third grade. I remember the dream so distinctly that it is almost scary. What is starting to scare me more is how adept my mind has been at lucid dreaming without ever knowing of techniques or processes to encourage Lucid Dreaming. The first lucid dream that I ever had I was eight years old, I am now twenty-one and just now starting to realize what has been happening. In this dream I was playing basketball in my friends driveway, and the genie from Disney’s Aladdin appeared behind my friend. I guess from what I have been learning that this was my “sign”. As soon as the genie was there for the first time in my life I realized I was dreaming, I remember thinking that “The genie is not real, this must be a dream” and to test it, I reached up on my head and pulled off the top of my skull like it had been cut by a surgeon and touched the soft wet brain in my head. Obviously in my dream I was amazed. From then on until I woke up the Genie could do anything I wanted him to do. The difference though from it being a LD and a normal dream, was that I was consciously thinking of what I wanted him to do. This is a lesson I’ve come to develop since then.

My idea on this type of consciousness in a LD is that it is obviously your sub-conscious making an active connection with your wakening conscious and therefore works just the same. A second note I would like to add to this is that your sub-conscious learns just the same as your wakening conscious. Once you’re sub-conscious learns that it is possible to LD then it is able to pick up on a dreamscape quicker than normal. This also goes for things such as flying or breathing underwater. Which are two subjects I’d like some response on. When I try to explain this to my close friends I refer to it as having two brains. Your “Brain” knows how to walk, eat, sleep, talk, and drive ext. ext.
Your “Sub-Brain” doesn’t know anything but to act, like your heart beating or stomach digesting. Once your “Sub-Brain” learns how to LD the things you can teach yourself are infinite.

Now I haven’t spent much time in my life attempting to lucid dream, but when I am sleeping and begin to lucid dream, I defiantly get excited in my dream and try and take the most advantage of it while I can. I’d now like to go over some of my most memorable LD, and my whammy of a dream that really made my head spin.

My earliest dreams I can recall are normally nightmares with the same scare idea. There is a presence in the dream that will not talk to me but only stare. I could never recognize this being, I could not talk to this being, and I could not chase this being. In these nightmares the only power I had was to fear this being. From these dreams I believe I have developed LD. As the years went by I began developing tactics when these dreams arose to combat the beings. The first ability I gained in dreams was the ability to run. Instead of most scary dreams when you feel like you’re walking through two feet of mud, I have been able to run and run fast. I would start chasing the beings, but I could never catch them or I would get to scared when approaching them. The second tactic I got was the ability to shout at them, and I mean yell. Like you would yell at someone who came in your house, without permission, or a co-worker who isn’t pulling weight. These two things became very useful in the dreams and I could go on with what I was doing, but they were never actual LD. I’d also like to make it a point I will touch on later that I never lost the fear in the dream. I just gained courage. After awhile the dreams I was having become infrequent.

Then while I was in the sixth grade I had a dream that two spirits had come to me at my baseball diamond (a place I felt very comfortable) and they were identical, wearing white robes. These two spirits had very different attitudes. One was very pleasing and offered me many things, and the other told me that the pleasing on was very bad and was trying to deceive me. When the two spirits asked me to pick between the two of them I picked the one that “felt” right, and that was the one who was giving me advise rather than gifts. When I chose the one with gifts became very angry and began yelling at me and I became very frightened. The one I had chose then grabbed me and we flew through the air away from the terrible one. This was my first experience of flying.

** This dream has always meant a lot to me spiritually. In the weeks to come I sought out a pastor to speak to about the dream and was told that it was an evil spirit and a godly spirit bartering for my soul. Could this be the truth? Input? Any ideas are good ones. I am very faithful to this day.

Many strange dreams passed from sixth grade through high school, and I believe I was not as potent to the dreams through these adolescent years. I did however have very common dreams through these times, and to today as my ability seems to be getting stronger than it ever was.

Breathing Under Water – Very common for me. A lot of dreams where I am completely underwater usually fifty or more yards from the surface of the water and running out of breath, I always about drowned and take in a big breath of water, and find “hey I can breath underwater, sweet.” Yet it never seems to lead to LD.

Teeth Falling Out – I’ve had this dream so many times it’s ridiculous the different circumstances and all. Getting in a fight, sucking the out of my own mouth, grinding them out, but one thing I always the same. They always come almost out, like hanging in my gums and I try to keep them and leave them alone, and can’t. I push them with my tongue or suck them free. Second thing that is always the same, I always hang on to them. Whether holding them in my hand or keeping them in my cheeks I always keep them and try to get them fixed in the dream.

**Because this is such a frequent dream (hasn’t happened in awhile but I’m sure it will again) is there any input from you guys on why or how I have these dreams that are not lucid?

Punching People – Somewhere along the line in my dream brain I’ve learned to punch people really hard. Before having a dream where hitting people was like trying to lift weights after three hours of intense work out. I’ve been able to really knock the shit out of people.

      **Anyone else?

Running Fast – I’ve also lost the dead leg syndrome of not being able to run. Now I run faster than possible all the time in my dreams.

      Shouting- Explains itself.

** All of these things always happen, I don’t have dreams anymore of not being able to run, punch, or shout.

Flying- this is my favorite feeling in a dream, but it is always the same. It feels as if it takes an enormous amount of energy from me and after I run out of energy I can no longer fly, I slowly come down to the ground and can take a few BIG jumps like being on a giant trampoline, and I then become to tired.

**Anyone ever have the feeling of becoming tired in a dream after flying, or feeling as if you are channeling energy to fly?

Stabbing People – This is my major concern right now, in dreams it seems like I have no problem killing people. It is always very intense and after I have done it I become freighted of the consequences. Very recently I have had a dream of killing someone without even touching them. These are very realistic. If it is a knife in my hand I can feel my strength holding the knife and I can feel the resistance as the knife goes into someone, and I always stab them in the head.

**I am looking for opinions on this it is very scary to me and I am very confused by it’s meaning.

Creating – Being able to create anything I can think of just by feeling it happen. For instance I created a car because I felt the need to have a car in my dream. I mentally created things like diamond rings, food, and suitcases full of money (Just incase the dream power was to go away, I’d have money, which it did and dream money doesn’t get you anything ; )

Clairvoyant Dreams- These are dreams that I have that are so simple and realistic not exciting that I write them down. On two instances they have come true, once when I was in jail and my best friend found out I was sleeping with his girlfriend and I was sitting on the stairs worrying, and another when I went to wal-mart with my girlfriend and her roommate to buy a toothbrush.

Changing into Animals – This is my most recent accomplishment in dreamland. In a recent dream I was running from the cops because I a bunch of vampires told me, after killing intruders to their home with amazing efficiency, that I had to kill the rest of the people because they were to weak, and yes I did stab them in the head from behind and watched them die. This dream was very vivid. The vampires were amazing they moved like light and had amazing strength. The only dream I’ve ever had about vampires, and they wanted me to be one. It was like a secret gang that only I could be apart of and killing these people was the opportunity. So now I am running and to my delight I raise into the air and begin flying, I believe from all the stress created from my need to get away from the cops, and I am soaring and see a hawk. I begin to flap my wings like a hawk and admire it’s ability to fly so easily trying to mimic it’s movements. Soon I run out of energy and come drifting down to the ground. When my feet touch the ground I am still running and now I am Lucid Dreaming. I think to myself “this is a dream, and I need to get away fast, what runs fast?” I am running “A Wolf!” So I am thinking with my “Sub-Brain” how can become a wolf, I decide I must run like a wolf. So I bend over as I’m running to attempt to run on all fours like a dog and let my two hands touch the ground. When they do my hands become paws and I can feel the concrete with my dog toe nails, and hear the click of them on the pavement. When I tried to take the steps with my “hind” legs they did not turn into wolf legs and I fell to the ground.

**Has anyone had any Lucid Dreams where they were able to turn into an animal? I believe that I had changed myself half way into a wolf. Has anyone been able to do it or has the opportunity ever come up?

In closing this post has become about four pages longer then I meant it to be but now you have all of the knowledge that I do and what I have experienced in my dream world without attempting to LD. Since the wolf dream, I have started paying more attention and actually wanting to LD, but I have not been successful at initiating a dream on my own. I appreciate anyone who has read this article, and has comments for me, or information about any of the topics I have encountered. Thank you very much. I look forward to sharing my dream life with you guys, and maybe one day will see each other on the FLIP SIDE.

      Hey, welcome to the forum.

I did read your whole post, but short for time on replying to every point, but seems to me like you are a natural lucid dreamer - a lot of people are (me included) and now you have found this site, you can learn to do some amazing things you never even thought about doing!

Initiating dreams on your own is quite easy when you know how, there is a link in my signature to a technique called WILD - check it out if you have time

I've been dieing to do this for awhile, I've always wondered how to start the process. how many times have you tried this? how many lucids have you had? next lucid I'll try what you did but hopefully finish the rear.

Definetly the single thing that happend in a lucid dream I didn't plan on, that made me realize that LDing can be so cool. The basic concepte in my dream thought was "act like a wolf" or "Be a wolf" the problem was is that my sub-concious didn't really believe it 100% maybe about 50% why half of me turned.

Anyone on the stabbing or killing? Still concerned. Is my sub concious a murderer?

I’ve only had three LDs that I can say confidently and had very good control in.

I’ve had many slightly Lucid Dreams, where parts of my dream I have very much control and it fades away like flying, leaping, or breathing underwater. I’d say probably a dozen or more.

      I dont know if it helps from a newbie but;
I normally try to feel like the animal I wanna be.
I once was a wolf, and i would imagine myself being able to run very fast, be very swift and able to jump high and for my feeling i became a wolf, i looked at myself and i had claws, but when i looked at my feet it had human feet, so i guess its about totally trying to become that animal with your whole mind.

Yeah, that is what I did, I just thought about it. I tried to "BE" a wolf. I had to be a wolf, but I got to worried about the mechanics of running like a wolf and I messed it up. All of my dreams I have had were to spontanious to plan on doing anything in the dream.

Yeah the stabbing thing is like intentional, but for some reason I usually have to do it. Like there is no way I couldn't stab them, I was saveing someone or changing a situation. I don't believe they died I think they were just gone. Like completely don't matter anymore in the dream, but no sense of sympathy or regret.

I always laugh at people's complicated interpretations of teeth dreams. What is the last thing you normally do before going to bed? Stand in front of a mirror for 5 minutes brushing and flossing your teeth? Staring at your teeth repeating "I have to floss so my teeth don't fall out. Hope my teeth don't fall out. Keep those teeth from falling out".

Thats the basic way to incubate dream content.

When it comes to stabbing people in the head, I don't know what to think.
The way you described your first lucid as removing the top of your head like a surgeon and playing with your brain makes me think there is something going on. Very similar to stabbing someone in the head.

I think maybe you relate lucidity and/ or dreaming closely to the physical brain. So maybe stabbing people in the brain is a way of manipulating people's brains and/or dreams? Maybe it is a way of engaging you dream character's brains, not a way of killing them?

That is a pretty interesting interpretation. I do in my philo of dreaming and lucid dreaming have a lot of importance placed in the concious brain and sub concious brain I call it the "Sub-Brain" and it's way of learning. I guess it's probably then that I am takeing them out of my dream by takeing away their ability to dream with me. In my own concious, if I were more lucid I wouldn't need to stab them I could just make them dissapear on my own. Thanks for the insight.

Anybody on the religious Good vs. Bad dream?
