A little more info? Are you losing the lucid dream, are you waking up?

well, spinning on the spot can help with clarity and make the dream last longer, rubbing your hands can do the above, or, ermm.. crap, i've forgotten what the other one is.
I need my sleep. I need about eight hours a day, and about ten at night.

Sometimes verbally stating that you are in a lucid dream can help. Also check out the scenery, or even yourself. Take a moment to appreciate the dream scene or check to see what you're wearing. This could help anchor you in the dream.

      Welcome timster,

Congrats for recently learing how to LD.

Some of the things that help me make LDs last longer are to really focus on things aound me in the dream. And if the dream starts to fade, I will rub my hands on my arms. That will usually bring me back. If the dream fades completely, I will lay ther still and try to imagine the last scene I just saw. Sometimes I am able to pick it back up from that spot.

      Good luck...

Rubbing you hands is helpful, becouse you feel you dream body instead of your real body. You have to do it before you start feeling your real body in bed. It is not as difficult as it seems. When I first did it. It helped me. Actually that is was the change which made my 20s dreams into 10 minutes lasting dreams.

Try it once. And you will never forget it.

Yes, your dream hands. Although sometimes it is almost hard to tell the difference.

If it helps, I'll give you an example from once of my LDs (quoted from my dream journal here). In the dream I was flying and everything started to fade and I was afraid I was waking up.

At this point most of the visual was gone, though not completely. And I felt somewhat aware of my physical body in bed. I decided to try the rubbing my hands together trick. I did and and felt a little worried that I was actually rubbing my real hands together in bed, because it really felt real.

I then concentrated with the visual. I have noticed in the past when entering a dream it is often easier to just imagine the scenery passing me by, instead of making myself move through the scenery. So I was able to do this and everything became much more vivid again.

I continued to fly over the neighborhood. I moved my arms as I flew "Swimming" style. I still wondered if I was moving my arms in real life. I felt if I moved my hands lower that they would suddenly catch on the blankets. But then I moved my hands so they were moving below my body closer to my chest and stomach. They didn't catch on anything, so I knew that what felt so much like my physical body was once again just my dream body. (This isn't the first time I have thought I was moving my physical body, when it was only my dream body all along.)
