      question

alright ive been sorta confused on this for a bit but when you wake after 5-7 hours of sleep to wild, is the time spent waiting before attempting the wild only used to make sure you dont fall back asleep in the middle of an attempt or do wilds have some sorta wake time req. before one can be sucsessful?

You are correct, the time spent awake is to make sure that you don't fall asleep too quickly. This time can be adjusted depending on whether you find it to be too easy or too hard to fall asleep. To increase your odds of having a lucid dream, you can read about lucid dreaming or visit the forum during the time you're awake.

      thanks
just wanted to make sure, cause i dont like waiting much, and its not to hard to stay awake after waking for me, so now all those failed attempts weren't in vain, so i just gotta keep practicing thanks again.

No problem. Don't be discouraged - WILD is one of the more difficult techniques.

As he said, WILD is more difficult than some others. Best bet is just to focus on the basics. But hey, try whatever you want!
You do this every fucking time.
      No sweat.
      No tears.
      No guilt.

And also, if your WILD doesn't work, and you go to sleep, your chances of becoming lucid later in a dream is greatly increased because it has been on your mind.
