      Talking Newbie with a question

First, I want to say hi, everybody!

Second, I have a question. I have just started my dream journal, and I'm already dismayed. The two dreams have nothing in common in terms of plot and characters. The only thing they seem to have in common is that they both take place in my kitchen.

So my question is a relatively simple one: Can rooms be dream signs, and if so, when should I do my reality checks in real life? When I enter the room, or when I am in the room? Or should I just keep dreaming and hope a better sign becomes apparent?

Yes, rooms can be dream signs. You should do them when you are in them because I'm guessing you started in your kitchen in your dream.

In one dream, I started in the kitchen. That dream contains extremely embarassing (i.e. fetish) sexual content so I won't describe it

However, the other dream was more interesting. I start by waking up in the same bed I was sleeping in that night. I tried to turn on my over head light but it didn't work (device failure! too bad it was only in one dream ). So I walked into my kitchen from there.

Of course, they can be dreamsigns. And as for the reality checks? Well. You dont have to do them when entering the room. the best for you would be to recreate the feeling of being in a dream kitchen in your mind. And do a reality check just in your head. Add some emotion, so it gets deeper. And you have half won.

You would anchor your reality check into something from dreamworld and not into something from real world. And that should be more effective.

First. It wont be as easy to recreate the feeling of the dream kitchen. Why? Becouse you didnt open your dream memory.

Take maybe 10 minutes of relaxation {and no movement}, before you do any conscious work with your dream memmory. It should open automatically. Then you work further.

Whenever you go into your kitchen do a reality check. Do it more subtly when people or around.
