Are you doing a wake-back-to-bed first (sleeping 5-6 hours first)? |

no I'm not doing this with a wbtb I did a few minutes ago after a long tiring day. I get numb and really heavy and the occasional tingling and lightweight but thats it. I read people saying only 20 to 40 min but I think to myself after 2 h. This is ridiculous I've heard it takes long sometimes but come on. |

WBTB is practically essential to WILDing. You'd be amazed at how much easier it is after sleeping 5-6 hours first. |
so is it normal for it to have taken that long because I did it without a wbtb? |
Yes. The first REM periods are hours into sleep, so you'd have to wait forever to reach them. There are also a few deep sleep phases in between, that you have to stay conscious for. Also, REM periods are shorter at first, meaning even if you managed to succeed without WBTB, you'd have a short lucid dream. |

So basically you should have much better results if you sleep for a few hours during the day before attempting WILD at night? |
Have you had any other lds? I found that wilds were much easier(as in I could finally get into an ld) after having several lds (dilds). Oh and my first several attempts did not work (I think like most people), so don't get discouraged/disappointed with these first unsuccessful attempts. Good luck. |
