      Help me please!

I am kinda embarassed to talk about my dreams but lately they havent been good and not the usual nightmare but some sick stuff. I am afraid to go to sleep one of my favorite things in the world. I thought maybe if anyone could give me pointers or rather help me to obtain lucidity I would greatly appreciate it. I have been losing lots of sleep and because of this I cant focus on school work and I have been getting major migrains. I have seen a couple doctors and gone to theropy. All I got is some medicine but it doesnt help me any. I think my only chance is to be able to obtain lucid dreams as often as possible. Please help me someone I feel like crap because I havent gotten a decent night of rest in months except for a couple days ago I entered a state of lucidity. I cant handle this anymore I need help.

Aw! That's okay, you're at the perfect place to get some help. Could you give us some more detail, what these dreams are and why you're afraid to go to sleep? You can PM me, too, if you don't want to post that on the boards.

Approaching hoofbeats.....a bugle off in the distance.....the cavalry tops the hill

You've come to the right place.

We've already spoken, but I am hoping that perhaps others here can shed some light?

I agree that some background would be good, but you don't have to give it. I'm also available for PMs and I've gone through phases where my dreams have been less than desirable. Also, do you exercise during the day? I don't know how true it is for everyone, but I've heard that physical exertion can cause you to sleep more heavily, making your REM cycles shorter. I'm not sure if that's completely true, but I think it might have some validity.

I don't see how exercising makes REM cycles shorter, or the logic behind it..

Exercising during the day does help you fall asleep, at least for me. It can't be right before bed, though....that kept me awake for a while until I crashed.

Yah I know, hun. I was just hoping someone who knew a lot about it would come along and explain it.

Yeah I mean it helps most people to fall asleep faster (ya know, because you obviously have less energy and all that), but I don't believe it'll change anything about your sleep cycles. Usually that'd be.. drugs or something.
