      WILD question...

      Hi, in new (obviously).

I have known about lucid dreaming for some time now, and it is just later i have been lurking on these forums.

I have tried WILDs several times. So many times i cant remember how many.
but still i get no result. When i lie back and relax, in a short time my body seems heavy and somewhat paralyzed. If i lie like then for some time (5-15min) my body suddenly feels even more heavy and completily paralyzed. After that, nothing happends. No HI, flashes of lights or wierd sounds.
Have i been close to LDing?

ps. i am very lazy and I almost never do any preparations. I tried WBTB, but then i couldn't fall asleep.

      Hi Sound, welcome to Dreamviews.

It is very difficult to Wild from bedtime. A WBTB is normally required. If you can't get back to sleep try WBTB from between 3-5 hours after going to sleep: you should be very tired at this point.

Welcome to Dream Views, sound. I love your avatar. I want to pin it to my collar or put it on a bumber sticker.

WILDs can be tricky. Like psychology student said, its very difficult to pull one off without a WBTB.

You joke about being lazy, but have you checked out some techniques that involve dream reentry and sleeping in? Being good at staying in bed can be a gold mind if you know how to cash in on it. Read around in the 'Attaining Lucidity' and the 'Tutorials' section to see the variety of fun ways to get lucid.

Let me know if you have trouble finding anything.

omg omg We're in a forum discussing dreaming and sleep... he's too lazy

seriously though: like the posters above me said, WILDs are really hard, especially if you've never had a lucid dream before. It is probably betters to start slow and figure out dream signs and learn how to do reality checks before WILDing.

I thought: you said you're too lazy to WBTB, it's impossible to WILD when you first go to bed because you are not entering REM sleep, you are entering deep sleep and you don't dream in deep sleep. You need to wake up (around 4 or 6 is best) and WILD then.

Hello and welcome to Dream Views.

There is also the option of attempting to have a WILD during a nap, if you'd like to give that a shot. Just be sure you're actually in need of a nap instead of laying down while you're not tired. If your body is in need of the rest it'll fall asleep faster than if you're not feeling sleepy at all.

Ahh, sounds a bit strange that. Can't go into SP when in WBTB mode? Ok well, what exactly are you doing during WBTB?

When i wake up, i get out of bed, go to the toilet and then read/do other stuff on my computer. I stay up aprox. 1/2 hour then go to bed. Then i lie down, doing all the regular stuff i usually do (controlling breathing, etc...) , but i dont get to SP.
I am (ofc.) trying again till it works, but any advice would be great

Hmm, it seems odd that you're not getting SP when you go back to bed. *Thinks....*

Ok, try some technique, try imaging going down a set of stairs and doing rythmatic breathing whilst going down the stairs, "One *Breath in*" and then go down one step, "Two *breath out*" go down another.

      Try that one
