There isn't really an average. Some people get it the first night and som take months to years.

Keep waiting! Keep the Dream Journal, keep reading about lucid dreams, drink plent of dairy (if you havn't not an allergy) and you'll soon get it. Unless you want to try any methods.

To answer your question I think it took about two - nine months for me to get my first lucid dream since joining the site.

There's not really an avarage to measure really, unless someone does a hardcore survey, which I might try and pull off myself.

Took me about a month. For others, only days.

Days, weeks, months...depends on the individual.

      Keep at it. Good luck.

I do that. It worked for me. It took me a week to have a LD doing that. That and I used Vitamin B6.

There is no set average. I had an LD the very night I found out about this place, but some people I've adopted have been trying for months with no results.

That's funny, it seems like the first two steps of that technique are exactly what I always have been doing in order to get myself to fall asleep, before I knew about LD-ing.

It can be really funny, that second step; my mind starts chaining thoughts together and when I am actually paying attention, i'm like where did that thought come from?

The harder you try to have one, the longer it will take to have one. It can take up to a few months to a few weeks depending on how you go about trying to have one. You say your getting close than I'd say probably in a few days time.

I think it was about a week or two after I read "exploring the world of lucid dreaming" by Stephen Laberge.

I've experienced lucid dreams before this. But I just don't know what it is. and I really like the idea of being able to control everything around you =)

so on the night that I read about lucid dreams on this site, that is the same night of me knowing there's such a thing as staying lucidity and all. And on the very same night itself I had my "official" first LD
