Reality Checking
Looks like you need help with Reality Checking, ahh, the old common trick into making yourself realize you're dreaming. It works in this way: When you are in a dream and you don't know you're dreaming, you see your grand mother is literally a dog. You don't know you're dreaming so you do a Reality Check. You look at your hands and see if they're any different than normal, this is because our brain doesn't ever generate our hands properly in our dream, so 90% of the time they're abnormal, and if they are, you know the dream is what it is.
As for the rest which is 10%, other Reality Checks can be done in order to check your reality. Take this as an example, the room all around you is dark, and you changed your light bulb yesterday, dream or not. There's a vampire zombie guy behind you, you're scared, but you want to know you're dreaming, so you test the light. Most of the time electrical devices such as light switches and lamps don't work, so if the light doesn't work or there's something wrong with it, you're most likely to be dreaming.
But don't get me wrong, you don't really need to spent that much time in the dream to know you're dreaming. For instance, when you're dreaming and you question your reality, your subconscious (aka you're inner voice/self) basically knows lucidity. Reality Checking is for if you want to double check for definite, but if you're a beginner, ignore what I said about double checking, as it'll be important for you to start off with, like an adult holding your hand whilst trying to balance on walking on a thin rope.[/COLOR]
Dream Recall
Now we come to Dream Recall, this is good for our dreams because it helps us remember our dreams in general. This is why very important for helping us remember our dreams. And here's the bonus, it can help you naturally become lucid.
Here's a tip, when Jimmy wakes up in the normal, he says "I don't want to get out of bed", but then he picks up his pad whist sitting in bed and jots down a few keywords about the dream. When he's been to the toilet to do the stuff, he's forgotten his dream. He looks at the keywords he wrote and automatically remembers maybe his whole dream, maybe over time. Why? Because little Jimmy's mind remembered the words and so he can write down his dream.
There's a forum section on here called "Dream Journal" which is exactly what this is for, typing our dreams. I'll give links below:
