      Wink Hallo :]

      Well..

I was watching Waking Life. Which led me to a google search and then here :]

I have been having pretty vivid dreams since I was young.. and started lucid dreaming about 7years ago.

I remember my first proper lucid dream. I was stood near my very first house and I realized I was dreaming (can't remember how) I remember thinking to myself.. what should I do.. I have total control of my world.. and I though FLY

I remember over the next couple of months giving myself flying lessons in my dreams. In the first one I was just too excited with the fact it worked. I took off and remember doing backwards flips and I remember having enough space to do them and the flip would always seem small.. but when I came under I was always nearly hitting my head on the floor. Also I remember I kept flying too high.. and Im scared of heights.. :[ I seemed to get the grasp of it.. and since then I fly about quite a lot!

I have a lot of favorite dreeams. I remember I went through a stage of waking up but my body paralyzed I used to get it a lot.

This one time.. I had a dream and my cousin was dating some Indian dude. Theylived in this big beautiful castle which was at the end of a path.. at the start of the path were big gates and I remember thinking I would love to walk around the beautiful gardens and look at the castle. I saw a sort of spice stall near the gate. And the Indian guy was behind the spices.. He said If I guessed the name of his god I could go through the gates. I remember thinking in my head I know the answer.. and was certain I knew! so I said what I thought it was.. and he said "I knew you would say that" and then blew coloured spices or dust in my eyes.. and I woke.. and was paralyzed.. I my vision was blured.. I tried to scream but nothing came out. I saw my boyfriend come in and look over me. I thought I was dead. It lasted for about 40minutes. I woke crying as I thought I had died. lol

I htink that was pretty crazy how the Indian dude brought about my punishment for giving the wrong name!

I have had so many dreams. I try to jot them down when I wake up. And keep a big dream diary.

The best ones are visiting future like worlds and flying around. Or flying around and sitting on top of building and watching the people go by. Flying through trees.. swimming underwater able to breath... The feeling of being truely free is the most pleasant.

I went to Egypt a few years ago.. and I was gettin a train to Cairo from Luxor which was a 10hr overnight thing. I went to the chemist and got a load of Valium to knock me out.

When I came home from Egypt I still had about 50Valium pills. I would take them nearly everyday and night.. I would sleep for about 18hrs a day.. I wasn't addicted to the pills. I was addicted to the dreams. I got really vivid dreams too. Sounds a bit stupid!! But its true.

One time I had a lot of acid.. and my imagination is already pretty big.. I always have bad trips where I visit places so grim and horrible I oculdnt even begin to explain. no words exist where I can express what I saw and felt. but anyway.. I got taken to hospital LOL... and when there I passed out.. and started a dream.. which followed my awake trip.
My awake trip short I opened a machine in the sky through ballet dancing in a glass box which was slowly cutting me and all matter around me up. This machine was the answer to everything.. it cured everything! it was everything. I got taken to hospital.. which I thought had been designed for me! the Mesiah who cures the world. Ofc lol I passed out and my dream was about me finishing off opening the machine.. I did it through body popping on a bed of touch sensitive needles that measured my moves.. by doing the moves correct I released blood from my body to the machine.. thus killing my body and I was gonna be made into a machine. I remember being above this beautiful lake surrounded by people watching and cheering for me.. I remember loving the feeling of giving a cure to the world and saving the world.. but I remember thinking I wont be able to enjoy everything I can give.
I woke in hospital after the mad dream... and the nurse there was checkin to see how I was and what not.. and I kept calling her mum.. because I htought I cured age.. and she is young again.. and I would call some black nurse My Aunty Betty.. who died. but I thought I brought her back to life. It was all chaos. I thought I replicated myself after I got over I was a machine.. and thought I had to be a tramp becuase the other me was at home. I ran out of the hospital 3times tryin to escape!! was overall a grim experience.. but the dream and the fact when I was told what happened and the feeling of having my life back and being the only me was worth everything.

Prob didnt need to say all that.

      aaanyway

sorry for going on! You probably stopped reading a long time ago lol

I was wondering if someone could tell me what all the abbreviations you use are?

Also.. please excuse my bad spelling and punctuation
is there a spell checker on here?

      Thanks !! x x

Hey there Luna, welcome to Dream Views, this community is very nice and welcoming and we're glad you decided to come join. Here's something useful for checking your spelling, Google Toolbar, it has an automatic spell check, I use it when I'm posting stuff on here. You can go for that if you want, or just Google itself corrects your spelling. Just type in a word and it'll put it never red text.

Anyway, on with your question. Yes, they're a lot of abbreviations for Lucid Dreaming, the most common one is "LD", which is for Lucid Dreaming, obviously. But there's a lot more than that, like DILD, and MILD, WBTB, and even WILD. These are named as follows:

DILD stands for Dream Induced Lucid Dream, it is used for when people naturally have a Lucid Dream by a random night. This consists of Dream Journaling, Reality Checking, and recognizing Dream Signs. There's also the odd bonus of eating chocolate, which is the part I personally enjoy. You can find out more about DILD here - Click

MILD stands for Mnemonically Induced Lucid Dreams, although I think it does anyway. But that doesn't matter, I'll explain it anyway. MILD is all about telling your mind, your subconscious to do things. Commanding is a great term to use here. It's all about believing and all that kind of funky stuff. You can out more, here - Click

Next, let me tell you about WBTB. This stands for Wake Back to Bed, it is mostly used before doing WILD (which I will speak of in the paragraph of next). It consists of sleeping for five hours after you go to bed at night. It starts you off by boosting you, making it so you're hitting your Rapid Eye Movement (REM, heh), it's basically like Lucid Dreaming mode or whatever you want to call the "It helps" event. Find out more, here - Click

WILD, this is possibly one of the hardest and easiest at the same time methods I've seen. It stands for Wake Initiated Lucid Dream, this is what mostly follows WBTB. To put it in basic terms, this is going from awake, straight into dreaming. Sound silly? Well, try it out if you want. Experimentation is key here, remember that. Find out more, here - Click

You're probably wondering where I'm getting these links from. They are from the tutorial section of course! Where all the information is found, it is like the Bible of the website. Click here to fly there - Click

Again, welcome to the community, we're all very nice. If you have any questions, feel free to post them here. And our godlike selves will answer them for you.

I have always wondered if people that Lucid Dream without them knowing what it is, ever make a big deal about it? Or do most just shrug it off, and think it must be normal.
