I started with lucid dreams one week ago. It is the fourth day that I try MILD with today, and although I didn't have any lucid dream, always something odd happened. I'm not going to tell you the whole dreams because I'm sure nobody care, hehe, but basically I dreamed that I had a lucid dream. On another dream I saw something odd and I said "This can't be right". Sadly I didn't do a RC because I started to do that a few days ago, and I suppose that it takes time to reproduce that in a dream. Anyway, I think I'm close.

      I have some questions:
I don't know if I'm doing MILD correctly. When I'm repeating "The next time I'm dreaming I will remember I'm dreaming" sometimes my mind start to wander, but I quickly concentrate on the mantra again. Can this affect the effectiveness of the technique?

About WILD, I'd like to try it, but I don't want to hear screams in my closet, and see shadows trying to strangle me . Is there a way to avoid this?

      Thanks all in advance!

PD: Please excuse my poor english: it's not my first language.

Welcome to DV! Don't worry, your English is fine.

To your questions: It's ok if your mind wanders. It doesn't affect the effectiveness of MILD.

The fears you have related to WILD have to do when you're in sleep paralysis (SP). Don't worry, you don't have to experience SP to WILD. Even if you experience SP, you might not experience hallucinations.

Feel free to ask any questions you might have!

Welcome! I use the DEILD technique, and have been in SP quite a few times. I have never had any visual hallucinations, just audio. It can be kinda scary at first, but now I don't even notice it.

      Welcome to Dream Views, Delirium.

It sounds like you are on the right track. Lots of 'almost lucid' moments after only a week. I think the important thing with MILD, is to make sure you are trying to remember to become lucid. Be sure you are not just repeating the mantra. Really understand, and visualize what you are going to do. The next thing you see, is going to be a dream.

There are lots of different WILD techniques, and a lot of them avoid sleep paralysis all together.
