      soooo close??

      last night's dream
...I was asleep in a bed that was not my own, in a room that was not my own either. There were lazers going off all over the place with disco balls too. While i was asleep (in my dream) I told myself "this is a dream man!" "become lucid! do it!" and i became lucid in the dream that i was dreaming. (make sense?) not lucid in my actual dream. then i woke up (in my dream) and looked at one clock that was blinking 10:00 and a different one on the wall that read 6:00.

then i woke up for real.

was i close to a LD?
i feel that i was...by having a LD in my dreams dream. and the times not matching up. isint that a strong indicator to click over to an LD?

      thank you

Well, I'm a tiny bit confused. I think you WERE lucid. As soon as you think "I'm dreaming" and know it... then that's lucid dreaming.

If I'm wrong, then yeah, you were damn close! Very, very close. A lot closer than I've been since joining here.

      Well done.

I often have other lucids that I forget or that I don't record for whatever reason.

That's called a false awakening. Very common, especially when you have lucid dreams.

Tip: If you suddenly wake up after having a (lucid) dream, do a reality check to make sure that you really did wake up and that it isn't just another dream.

You were lucid before the false awakening.

Oh, sure, you were lucid. It was brief, but it was an LD. That has happened to me twice.
