Thread: Did I just come at a bad time?

No, the arguing is pretty much just the people in the lounge, here in the dreaming forums there is still lots of discussing of dreams and such.

Na, it's still a great place for dreaming. You just need to tune out the drama seekers, and focus on dreaming. And you will have a great time here.

Just wait until there is a new soon-to be atmosphere of calm.
Things here will work out, in time.
There are alot of great people here to suffiently keep a healthy dream community going. Two of them already posted here.

That's exactly how I felt, joining today. Especially since the science of the brain and sleep patterns is a relatively new field, I mean, compared to spirit unicorns or whatever. Read my thread, sift through to the science section somewhere's way down.

I think maybe if the place didn't have a religious forum that called people believing in religion "goofy religious zealots" and encourage ridiculous debates it would be a nicer place. It's like they recommend people to argue and insult. The lounge is a crappy community but if you just stay away from that part you should have a good time, when it comes to dreams I think there isn't much hostility.

I also should add that I point out the religion forum to be a huge insult to my beliefs and that a forum about LD shouldn't be so hostile towards spirituality? ?doesn't make sense to me? But whatever. =P

That's just one example. I have seen many arguments in other parts of the lounge about stupider things.

I haven't even seen any arguing... I never go to "the lounge" because none of the topics interest me... unless someone needs computer support...

The lounge is just one section... there are... just guessing here... about 15 other sections??? Such a small section you're basing your judgment on. Read all the other sections, there's enough to keep you occupied.

You can help others, seek help or help yourself reading the tutorials. You can keep a dream journal, read other people's dream journals... there's lots here.

I think this is a great forum and you'll only get out what you put in!

I decided long ago not to take part in message boards due to petty arguments, but I think if you can stick to a shared interest section, such as Lucid Dreaming, you should be ok. At least, I hope, because this place is cool and people have been very helpful to me since I joined.

It's usually pretty friendly although the bad feelings seem to be more publicly available now than in the past - but I think it is limited to a small number of individuals so perhaps it will fizzle out in the near future

Just stay away from the Off Topic sections, and everything will appear calm Thats what I do.

It is a cultural thing here latley to ignore off-topic. You`ll need tougher skin there to hang but:
To make any progress on this forum, is to not ignore the whole of DV.
but to be free to explore to do as you please- as like when lucid dreaming, to make your own choices and your own path (just for you).

there are more welcoming members here in on topic though
