      Unhappy Strange fear

Just recently I have started realizing that I'm in a dream, but as soon as I know this I get some kind of paranoia that I will never be able to wake up.
Then I loose any desire to stay in a dream and just shake myself until I wake up. Is there a way to stop this feeling of ridiculous dread?

I also have noticed that as soon as I have the notion of dreaming, I feel my eyes closing, becoming very heavy and it's hard to keep them open in a dream.

Unless your fear of never waking up is resulting from sleep paralysis, most of this stuff seems phycological. Your eyes closing could also be this. Your subconscious doesn't won't to accept LD because its afraid of what might happen. That's just my theory anyway. This problem may go away sometime.

Self-hypnosis might help though. Right before you go to bed relax as far as you can go. Sit upright so you don't accidently fall asleep. Outloud tell yourself everythings fine with LD, and that you will always wake up. Actually listen to your words.
