Question I don't realise im dreaming...?

I've been trying to Lucid Dream a few times and I don't know what I'm doing wrong but usually I dont realise im dreaming until the next morning after I wake up and remember think of what i dreamt. If anyone has any tips on how I can notice my dreams in-sleep it would be greatly appreciated.

      Thanks

to Dreamviews. It's totally normal to not realize you're dreaming during the dream. When I first started out, I would tell myself every night I would realize I was dreaming. One thing people do is question the world around them by performing reality checks, ways to see if you are dreaming or awake. If you do these when you see something that makes you question if somethings real or not, you hopefully will do one if you see something strange in a dream.

There are a bunch of other methods to induce lucid dreams. WILD, MILD, DEILD, etc. Here's an acronym list for what those mean, and you can find more information about them in the tutorial section.

Sorry for bugging you, but I was wondering if you could give me some tips on how you would tell yourself your dreaming, or what kind of reality checks to preform.

      Thanks again

Here's an RC tutorial for you. You should definitely start a dream journal if you haven't already.

Thanks and for "6. Trying something considered "impossible" "
sometimes I'd dream and I'm on some cliff in a forest and when I jump and hit the ground, nothing happens, is this lucid dreaming or just something messed in my mind?

You're lucid if you know it's a dream. If you don't think to yourself, "This is a dream!" but somehow you know that there will be no consequences to your actions then you are probably partially lucid. A partial lucid is when you know on some level that it is a dream but you don't fully comprehend the concept and you're still thinking a lot like you would in a non-lucid.

When you wake up in the morning, immediately go back to sleep and tell yourself to become aware in your dream

I woke up about two hours ago, and as you said I tried to fall back asleep informing myself to be aware in my dreams. I also took Pastulio's advice and tried to tell myself I'm dreaming before falling asleep, but neither worked... I also cannot remember what my dreams were last night, is this a problem? Or does it just take lots of practise?

It takes lots of practice and experimentation with different techniques . . . and luck.

Try keeping a dream journal and preform a reality check often, maybe when your doing an RC you might realize your dreaming

Starting a dream journal can be a hard, but after you get the hang of it it gets easier and easier.
The first few times I tried, I just couldn't recall my dreams.
A few tips I found useful where: keep you journal beside your bed so when you wake up its the first thing you see.
Also, waking with an alarm instead of just waking up naturally improved my chances of remembering the dreams.
And, if you don't remember the dream when waking up, try coming back to bed a few hours later and lying down as if you where going to sleep. The mind will remember flashes of your dreams and those can help you while trying to record them on your journal.

Another thing about the dream jurnal i found out was (for me at least), was the brighter it was when i woke up (lets say around 10:00 compared to 5:00) the harder it was to recall them. So try setting an alarm at the time of a REM stage the latest time you can without having much light from windows. I also think sounds effect it too. I almost try and not even realize the world around me when i try to recall them. It helps me just to lay there with my eyes closed and just think (not about the world around me), and when it comes to me, i write down the key elements (not EXACTLY what happened). I also found out (which is wierd) that when i dream a certain song always plays in my head at a certain part of the dream, so if i remember the song, i usually remember the dream easier.
