      help

i am new to lucid dreaming. i have done lots of research on it and have ordered exloring the world of lucid dreaming by stephen laberge. i have been keeping a dream journal in detail everyday and can recall between 2 and 3 dreams a night.
i am a musician hoping to unlock some hidden creativity in my dreams and also looking just to have a bit of fun i.e lucid flying, sex etc
i am struggling to achieve lucidity though. i dont know what more to do. i do regular reality checks, ive identified 3 dream signs that occur regularly and i can lie awake after a WBTB trying WILD for up to 2 hours without success. i also am trying DILDs and DEILDs etc but nothings working for me.
i can focus my mind, i can relax and i do believe in lucid dreaming. its just never enough.
      can anyone suggest anything?

to Dreamviews! You're new, give it a little time. One night you will randomly realize that you are dreaming now that you are looking for it. Once you have more and start to learn how dreams and lucidity "feel", you will really start having more lucids. Besides hoping for that to happen, check out BillyBob's How To Lucid Dream and WILD tutorials if you haven't already. Both are extremely well written and are great for beginners. Also, try just a regular WBTB without the WILD part. I find this helps me induce lucids fairly well.

my suggestion would be that if you remember vivid dreams every night and get up to do WBTB, that instead of trying to WILD for 2 hours, write in your dream journal during WBTB, do tons of reality checks while doing so, and then just use autosuggestion (repeating something like "I will have a lucid dream") until you fall asleep. It also helps to sort of rehearse what you would like to do in your lucid dream as you're falling asleep too. Doing that gives me a DILD almost every time, especially if I can wake up directly from the dream rather than by alarm clock.

or if you want to continue with WILD, then dont stay up as long during WBTB or you'll be too awake. You have to time it right, so you're not too tired, but tired enough.

Also, trying too hard will make it more difficult. If you focus on it too much and get frustrated then becoming lucid will be almost impossible. It takes time. Just let it come.

oh and about coming up with creative ideas as a musician... a lot of people have trouble remembering the music that they hear or create in a lucid dream. I've played my guitar in lucid dreams a few times and can never remember them.
not trying to crush your dreams or anything... just letting you know
