      Introduction: AdmiralJedi

Hello, a friend of mine referred me to this forum. I was describing some of my dreams on another forum that we post on and he asked if I was into Lucid Dreaming. Told him I'd heard of it before but that I don't think I do it.

After reading the definition here that LD is just being aware and lucid within a dream then: yes, I do it. Probably once/twice every two weeks. So not very frequently, but I think that's because I can get really crappy sleep for various reasons (bad sleep cycle, snoring, etc.)

I have DILDs (I think that's the proper acronym) where I realize that I'm dreaming within a dream using dreamsigns.

I had really bad nightmares (scary ones, like alien movies and such) when I was a kid, and occasionally I would realize I was dreaming and fly away. Very high into the clouds. I never did anything with the lucidity at that point except escape.

I'm 30 now, and probably about 2-3 years ago I completely lost my ability to fly. In the past 2 years though, my dreams have shifted to a more "gradual and progressive" "discovery" of dream abilities. In my dreams I teach myself to fly better, levitate objects, and so forth. It's very slow and tedious though.

Current dream powers available to me:

      Flight
Levitate (objects up to the size of a small car)
Levitate (up to 2 additional human beings, causing them to fly with me)

I'm teaching myself now how to phase through walls, but it's slow. I usually end up inside a wall and lose the dream.

I've ALWAYS wanted to be able to throw some kind of cool, destructive fireball type power (more like the Street Fighter equivalent, and less like the magical equivalent) but I feel that there are aspects to my dream self that are limited by my conscious definitions of what is possible/impossible.

Flight and levitation, however, are _SO_ real for me in the dreams that I SWEAR I can do them in real life. It's like I'm "broken" outside of the dream heh heh.

Anyway, look forward to learning a lot more here and hopefully sharing some experiences and making new friends.

Sounds like you're already coming along quie a ways there. Next time your lucid just go all out, and dont question your ability. You can do anything. And try vocal commans too. When you want something to happen, shouting a command is a great way to exert your will over your dream.

I'll try the commands, G.O. thanks for the suggestion. =) I think I read another post suggesting that.

I've been intrigued by the material found on the site though, and I think I may start trying to shore up my Dream Recall abilities and sorta get back to basics a bit.

LOL! Maybe you can see now why I tend towards "slow progression" in my dreams, I'm just that kind of person period =)

Good to be here! Look forward to seeing you again,

heres a tip for better flight etc
levitate a car or anything near you and say 'if i can levitate this, theres no reason i cant levitate myself' and then do just that.
tell em if it works please

That's actually what I do already. Strangely enough, my Flight *started* as just a sort of elongated jump. First I could hang in the air longer (thereby jumping FURTHER, but not higher) and then I could jump higher. Like say from the ground to a rooftop.

Soon after that it was "incredible Hulk" style jumps, crossing city blocks and such, and has (finally) become full on flight.

I can now (using the levitation) have two more people fly with me.

In a dream I taught my son to fly (he's 7) -- wish it was a conjoined dream, but it wasn't. Taught him the same way, but he kept falling. There was a fun scene where he lost concentration and fell from great height. I stretched out my hand and levitate-broke his fall. (Very similar to the scene in X-Men 2 where Jean Grey breaks Nightcrawler's fall.) Fun.
